JMP platforms have inconsistent defaults.  For some, you can set a default confidence level, e.g. the Distribution platform.  Matched pairs has customizable default, but it is called "Set [alpha] level".  We use a standard of confidence = 0.8.  We can set that default for all the various platforms we use, except for "Life Distribution".   I may be the only person submitting this change, but it is a standard within all of Department of Defense testing. ... There is two main schools of how people can build DOE. The one chosen by JMP is to create design matrix using the powerful coordinate exchange algorithm. The second way is to provide a list of candidate data points (that could respects some complex constraints) and then search through it to create the design. (Actually, is JMP creating this list of candidate points in background ? When looking at design, there are some weird non rounded values, some times, which seems to indicate that JMP can take really any point (satisfying constraints if any) from the space of factor.)   I discussed yesterday with many DoE users at a conference, and they told me the fact that the second option does not exist in JMP is one of the main reason they don’t want to buy and use JMP. This option is however available in SAS proc Optex, which I am sure share many similarities with the Custom DoE platform of JMP.   Would you think such addition may be possible in the future, for Custom Design and Augment Design platforms ? ... I was looking for more details on the implementation of the prediction intervals in the JMP Fit Model Profiler, when you use the loglinear variance personality in the Fit Model platform. Could you provide more insight compared to what I can find in the help or over the internet ? For instance, does it use the design matrix in its computation ? Like this: with With (this is the part I miss on the documentation)   With sigma square (hat) being the model RSME (for loglinear variance, I guess this is the predicted RMSE for one design condition) and xh a new design condition. I hope so because this is just amazingly powerful to do exactly this.   Additionally, my point is that Prediction inverals are what we need. I communicated in the past (long, long time ago) that having generally those prediction intervals in the prediction profiler would be an ultimate addition to this powerful tool. I mean, the default multiple regression model (Standard Least Square) is the one used by most users, and this is unfortunate Prediction intervals are not available there ! Also, it would be easy to use such a Student distribution with the Simulator as well, instead of a Normal distribution not accounting for the design matrix nor the degrees of freedom (it even exists in multi-response form as a multivariate Student distribution) ! The reason is that most people use DoE first, and then come up with models that logically have low degrees of freedom. Hence the Normal approximation does not hold quite much.   For information, a lot of people cannot really use JMP for their Design Space computation (QbD environment) because of that poor Normal distribution in the simulator, to get the probabilities of defects. The Reliability & Survival tools do not seem to have any ability for a user to create KM survival curves that account for covariates as well as log-log plots for the same.  JMP also lacks the functionality to test the validity of the PH assumption.  These are items that should be part of the app. ... Presentation at JMP Discovery Summit Americas 2020 on the JMP Cause and Effect diagram. Some items to add to the wish list for future enhancements of the JMP Cause and Effect platform, or a new platform for "mind mapping".      1. Allow the option to open a closed node. Currently only closes the node and shows the ellipsis that the node is closed. Had to add JMP script to send the << Close(0) and << Close(1) messages. So know HierBox can take both messages, just add option to the right-click menu. 2. Diagram allows text to be rotated left or right. Found no option to rotate the display boxes, such as in the entire hierarchy layout. By allowing text to be rotated and display boxes to be rotated, or the entire hierarchy layout to be rotated, has the appearance of mind maps.  3. Add to the current 3 layouts: fishbone, hierarchy, nested, a new layout called something like "mind map" or "flexible map". Use the other JSL objects such as Outline Box, which allows the "node" to collapse or open, to be added to the new layout "mind map".  4. If too difficult to add to the Cause and Effect platform, maybe a new platform that would allow mind mapping. Or an enhanced journal with capabilities. Can be simple, but use the built in JMP display boxes and messages. Could see someone enter Outline Boxes, Text Boxes, but allow connectors like in the Hierarchy boxes, the Cause and Effect Diagram hierarchy layout. JMP does an amazing job of chugging along so even long analyses get done eventually (unless there are hardware limitations). However, sometimes these long processes are kicked off on accident or without realizing how long they will actually take.   I would like to suggest a way to kill the current process so the single thing I started stops, but I don't have to force close all of JMP and lose any other work I have going on. I know myself, and many colleagues, have done these things - from an accidental click to a botched while loop - so a way to save JMP from this 'killer process' would be greatly appreciated! ... Hi.  I'm looking for a scripting method to change the column names in my table to names I have contained in a list.  I'm thinking something like: dt << Set Column Names(newcolname_lis)?  This command would change the name of the ith column in the table to the ith item in newcolname_lis, starting at column 1.   The reason for this request: I have tables that can contain >20k columns.  I need to change the column names to merge with the rest of my data tables.  Using a For loop to change the names takes several minutes.  Ideally this could be done using a command in a few seconds.   This is a follow up to a question I posted earlier: https://community.jmp.com/t5/Discussions/Set-column-names-more-efficiently/m-p/311439#M56450    Thanks. ... I think it would be great to be able to define cluster among samples in the PCA platform. You can cluster by variables, and you can get k-means clusters overlaid on a PCA biplot under the clustering platform, but I think it would be cool to "cross-list" it to where you can execute k-means clustering directly within the PCA platform.  ... Our company is a petrochemical company. We are making efforts to activate JMP utilization for various process data analysis and R&D data analysis. Currently, most of the data in the factory is stored on OIS(Operation Information System) Server, and we are developing and operating Add-In to download this data. The problem is that our company is using JMP 14.2 32bit to use Add-In because the operating system server is 32bit. In graph builder, if I use the local data filter in the Graph Builder, a convenient Where() statement appears at the bottom of the plot; but if I use another platform like Fix Y by X I can't seem to get it to appear.
