Is it possible to consider as an option when installing JMP that Python and/or R can be installed and that these "extras" will be only used by JMP and do not interfere with other possible installations of Python and/or R.   Thanks ... View more

The Profiler is a powerfull tool in JMP and widely used for the analysis and interpretation of Design of Experiment models. To make prediction about future runs, the uncertainity of a model has to be considered. However, JMP is currently limited to confidence intervals, which only allow to make predictions about the range where the true mean falls into. Prediction and tolerance intervals on the other side would extend this so single runs or even for a poportion of a population. Other software tools such as DesignExpert offer these options already for years and I guess many other JMP users would appreacitae such an option in one of the future JMP versions.     ... View more

Using JMP 17 we have been a bit surprised to see what happens in detail with the above preference set, i.e. when performing a SQL Query, the connection string is removed (and not hidden like JMP16) in the result table. When starting the table script "Modify Query", the query builder opens, and we can look at the query, but pressing the "Execute Query" leads only to a generic "Error running SQL Query". I understand, that removing the connection string is a security feature to not distribute passwords, server names etc. And the good thing is, that the query definition (SQL) is still available.   This is my proposal: "Hide ODBC Connection Strings" should be renamed into "Remove ..." it should be made more transparent, that the Query will not be functional with this preference set, i.e. making visible that the SQL-Query object is not connected to any database, and throwing a more distinct error accordingly maybe there could be implemented a way to again connect that query to a database under the red triangle, i.e. "Connect to Database" to make it working again Thanks!           ... I would like to suggest the ability to simply 'pick files' from the list in a folder rather than figuring out a filter to apply or moving some files into separate folder.   Use Case: I have a dozen random-ish files in a folder and I want to combine 4 of them. Rather than finding a filter which would allow only those 4 files to be shown, I want to be able to ctrl+click them to build the list manually. What inspired this wish list request?  The feature in Graph builder to stack multiple information to a hierarchical structure is very useful.   But the way how it is implemented is just good enough to generate data on work level. For publication or management meetings, it's way too complicated to analyze the axis title and convert the information to labels for the different levels of the hierarchy. Hierarchical X labels    Especially if the labels of the variants don't give a clear hint for the used column:   What is the improvement you would like to see?  Please improve the way how the graph is generated! e.g.: move the labels to the left add some lines   Why is this idea important?  After the proposed optimization of GraphBuilder Plots with hierarchical levels on the axes, no further postprocessing will be necessary anymore to use them for Publications and Management meetings :)       more wishes submitted by   ... ☐ cool new feature ☑ could help many users! ☑ feels like a bug ☐ nice to have ☐ nobody needs it What inspired this wish list request?  Multi file Import: Discovering Files takes too long  For files which are stored in a network folder, it's can be faster to open Python, write a new code using GLOB and use the file list as input for Open in a for loop ... than to wait for MFI to fill the file list with entries which are then de-selected by the name filter.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  Please add an Option to MFI which i as fast as GLOB: The user specifies some filenames -> MFI finds the files (if the specs for data, size etc. are disable, there is no need to invest minutes to get this data. get it when the user activates one of the specs)   And Don't do it vice versa:  find all files in the specified directory, read the date, file size, etc. and then find out that just 2 of the thousand of files in the list match the filename spec.     Why is this idea important?  Make Jmp as fast as other tools.         more wishes submitted by   ... It would be nice to have the ability to set the number of decimal places of columns in tables. This could be done by adding options to the summary tables of each platform in the preferences menus. Often I want to know the distance in x, y, and absolute distance between points.  I can't find any way to do this currently in JMP.   Gnuplot has a mode where you press a key and it anchors a start point, then you can move the mouse around in the window and it shows the delta-x, delta-y, and distances of the mouse from the start point.     Something like this in JMP would be very handy! ... Currently, code folding is not supported for messages, platforms, user-defined functions, and comments.  Instead of a jmpkeyword.jsl option, a JSL advanced option to Collapse All Comment Blocks would be a very nice to have. ... View more

When I am developing a script, it is sometimes necessarry to comment out a block of code and re-write it for performance or quality reasons. I do this frequently and it is time consuming to comment the code manually, or to go through the context menu>Advanced>Comment Block/Uncomment Block.   Please allow for user to set a keyboard shortcut for this. I would recommend ctrl+k+c (Comment block) and ctrl+k+u (Uncomment block) as these are the defaults in Visual Studio.   ... View more

I would like to suggest a feature to be added for validation runs of your DoE model. Usually when I have the data for my DoE model I run an additional 3-5 runs to validate the model and compare the outcome of the runs to what the model predicted. It would be very useful to have this as a feature in JMP to augment the design with additional runs and compare the results to the model predictions by a test of equivalence.  ... View more

What inspired this wish list request? We're building a tool that loads well-documented data sources to JMP (a data mesh, essentially). We'd like to reveal the documentation about column governance, data types, and meaning to users conveniently. We can add these details to the Notes property, but this isn't highly visible.     What is the improvement you would like to see? When hovering over a column header, if the Notes property is defined, show a tooltip containing the column notes. Practically, this would display in just the same way Event Handler tooltips display, but rather than being defined at the cell level, it's defined at the column header.     Why is this idea important? Well-documented data sources allow other capable data-workers to understand, work with, and gain value from the data sources generated by others. For us, this means that the scientists who deeply understand, say, protein chemistry can create data tables with notes that allow those of us (like me) who don't really know what a "pI" is to use the dataset fluently.     ... JMP17 has new function called New Formula Column. It would be nice if it were to return the references to the newly created columns in a list, in similar manner as << New Column does for single column. Highly regulated fields such as medical devices or pharmaceutical require that a statistical rationale for any design verification and validation activity is used. If a variable is continuous, the sample size for tolerance interval is a calculation based on the type of interval (1 vs. 2 tails), confidence, population coverage and margin of error. Instead of having the method comparison addin, it would be nice to have passing bablock regression as an alternative to linear regression within Fit y by x.    Advantages:   No need to further keep the method comparision addin uptodate.
