  • Create a Journal via JSL that connects a table to a large number of graphs

This is really easy in html -- <a href="#linkname"> to <a name="linkname"> -- but I can't find how to do it in JMP JSL for Journals. Let's say 100 to have a concrete number that shows the need for JSL.  There's a table with 100 rows, each row with an associated graph.  The recipient of the table will scan the table and, say, choose to examine entry #57.  What I want is to use JSL to wire up a link...

  • How can I prevent 3-digit version numbers from getting read as dates into data table?

In JMP 14.2.0, when I read in (or 'Open') a CSV file that contains a column with 3-digit version number values, those values get interpreted as a date.  For example, if verTest.csv contains:Product,Station,Version,Date Widget,Audio-Test,2.2.2044,3/2/19 Widget,RF-Test,2.2.2045,3/2/20all the column values get interpreted as expected except the Version values which get read in as dates, e.g., 2/2/204...

  • variable selection with a correlation cutoff

I'm screening through thousands of variables and would like to only keep ones that are not very highly correlated with each other for example: r2<0.95 and >-0.95. Is there an easy way to do this? I can use: "Multivariate methods > multivariate" to calculate r2, but I have no idea how I can make the selection according to cutoff above.

  • How do I calculate z-scores at different aggregation levels?

Hello,  How do I use JSL to calculate Z-scores at different levels of aggregation? I am working with cancer mortality data (1999 - 2015) at the county-level. I need to calculate Z-scores to compare each county to the others within a state and all counties within the country. I cannot simply use the standardize function because it automatically takes an average of rates--which is invalid unless the...
