  • Mixture design - specifying linear constraints

I wanted to have mixture design or custom design with 5 raw materials (P1, P2, X, Y, Z). And in this design, sum of  two of the same type of  raw materials P1 & P2 should be between 0.2 and 0.4. I tried to use linear constraints. But JMP is saying that the constraints are wrong. What will be the right constraint for that? and is this possible to do? And is it possible to include the combined effec...

  • Guidance on mixtures design approach for a 6 component mixture with only 3 variables.

    Hello all, I'm looking to set up a mixtures design for a mixture which overall contains 6 components at these percentages below, but I only want to use three of these as my input variables. Components 4 to 6 must add up to 15 %. Component 1: 70 %Component 2: 10 %Component 3: 5 %Component 4: 0 - 5%Component 5: 0 - 5 %Component 6: 0 - 5 % When setting up the DoE, how do I remove Components 1, 2 and ...

  • removing terms from a model following a designed experment

Ok, suppose I've conducted a full factorial design with four 2-level factors. When fitting the model I've included all 2-way interactions. Some of the factors' main effects and interactions are not significant at 0.05. If I then remove the least significant factors (those at the bottom of the effect summary table), some of the non-significant terms become significant. If I were trying to develop t...

  • how to get fixed effect tests table to appear

I have a continuous response variable (Average) and a categorical predictor (Treatment) with labels 1 through 14 indicating the 14 levels. I have set the Treatment variable as ordinal, and was able to use the fit model function to obtain the least squares means table and least square means plot. However, I am unable to figure out how to obtain a table for a type 3 test of fixed effects. Specifical...

  • how to get a type 3 fixed effects test table

Does anybody know how to get a type 3 fixed effects test in JMP using the Fit Model option? I have a continuous response variable and a categorical predictor. I need a table that lists the denominator degrees of freedom for the F value. It should be a table that comes with the name Fixed Effect Tests. Please help!

  • Design space for 4 variables

We designed an RSM model for the optimization of 4 variables that are used as a combination. Once the results are obtained how do we obtain the design space (sweet spot) for all 4 variables together? Please help. Many Thanks!

  • Could JMP optimize factors with uncertainty?

Hello community!!,A question: will it be possible for the profiler to find the best combinations of factors with uncertainty when performing a simulation, which maximize the total utility and minimize the total cost, generating a table of the best combinations found? For example:

  • Caution: Places where Jmp does something unexpected

Definitely, JMP is Not a Spreadsheet . And that's great!! Besides this difference, there are other places where Jmp doesn't do/behave/produce what a newbie / innocent Jmp user expects.
If a user knows these issues and the remedies and workarounds -  he/she can
    a) save a lot of time b) be safe from data loss c) be sure that the results are as expected.

  • Getting NonEstimable values when crossing variables due to control setup

Hi,   I'm working on a dataset where we are testing the effects of 2 treatments and the delay between them, and I'm trying to figure out how to line up my variables so I can do a Dunnett's test against various controls. We are giving animals a dose of drug A (Variable A), waiting some time (T), and then giving them a dose of drug B . If the animal is NOT given drug A (= 0), then T doesn't have a m...

  • How to adjust the factor range for specific factors within an ongoing DOE

Hi, I designed a DOE that has two independent buffers. This DOE will range components in each buffer which will be used in a processing step sequentially. IE, buffer A, followed by buffer B. We already prepared for the DOE, and formulated the A buffers as per the recommended design. For the B buffers, we intended on ranging 2 components but later decided to reduce to ranging one component, and als...

  • Discrete Choice Experiment: Prohibited Combination

Hi everyone,I would like to design my first DCE. I am going to use 6 attributes that differ in the levels from 2 to 4 levels. However, I have a limitation where there is an impossible combination that may appear; for example, the cheapest product would not be possible to have the best feature. Is there any way for me to select the prohibited combination? Or, is the D-optimal design will always cal...
