But the usability for other programs is quite restricted.   1) since JMP18, one can directly access data tables from Python. But when I export a JMP data table with images, I just see the JSL code in the cells. data table with images -> Excel    What is the improvement you would like to see?  1) Please provide direct Python access to column with images. What inspired this wish list request? Please describe the current issue that needs improvement or the problem to be solved that is not easy or possible right now, with an example use case.  Semiconductor industry need the virtal metrology but less researchers and manager have not understand the importance of virtual metrology. Thus I woyld like to requset JMP to have script to run virtual-metrology.     What is the improvement you would like to see? Please describe the idea for improving JMP. There should be an add-in which allows generating regression lines accounting for errors in both X and Y. Usually york fit is used for this purpose in other software. It is crucial that JMP also introduces this feature.     ... View more

What inspired this wish list request?  Making small mistakes when launching JMP Platforms and I already have implemented this to my platforms.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  I would like to see "Keep dialog open" checkbox in all of the JMP platforms which have a launcher and close it when you press "OK". Other option would be to provide some sort of "Preview" for the platforms but this would be much more complicated to implement to not slow down platforms too much.     Why is this idea important?  Making very small mistake in JMP launcher forces you to find the launcher from menus again and pressing Recall or you can use View/Recall Last Platform (hidden inside menus and has very bad shortcut by default as it forces you to remove your hand from mouse). ... What inspired this wish list request?  Unlike other statistical software (Minitab), it seems that JMP doesn't provide detailed formulas for analyses. This lack of details and transparency can make it difficult for users to understand the underlying calculations.     What is the improvement you would like to see?  Provide more formulas for analyses where it makes sense to include them in the support documentation and in cases where formulas are quite complex, simplified formulas for simplified examples so the user can understand the concept.   Why is this idea important?  understand the underlying calculations, it is quite often to get request to explain the analysis, how do you derive this conclusion and what kind of analysis and fundamental concept formulas are being used in the analysis.   ... What inspired this wish list request?  When comparing designs/improvements during accelerated testing, the goal is to compress timing (hence accelerate) but not change the failure mode.   Taking Weibull statistics, one aims to shorten the 'time' or eta while maintaining the 'slope' or beta.   Weibull ++ software did this chart by showing a confidence region (say 95%) or map in a eta vs. beta plot.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  Enable ability to plot eta vs. beta in the reliability platform.     Why is this idea important?  This is the most visual way to see the effect of accelerated testing and avoid pitfalls.     ... What inspired this wish list request?  Column Info/properties (e.g., data type and modeling type) and Local Data Filter settings (in the case of multiple reports generated using By variables) have to be individually set.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  Enable broadcasting for Column info/properties and LDF settings. What inspired this wish list request?  Currently, Text to Columns supports only one delimiter. Often, multiple delimiters may simultaneously exist in the data. In such cases, the operation has to be done sequentially.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  Enable use of multiple delimiters (e.g., space, -, _, /) simultaneously. What inspired this wish list request?  Accessing the Text to Columns utility from the main Cols menu is cumbersome and inefficient.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  Enable Text to Columns Utility to be accessed by riht-clicking the column and from the Column manager. What inspired this wish list request?  Working a little with Python code in JMP's Script Editor and hoping for a bit more.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  Add dark theme (Currently there isn't properly working dark theme and I had to create my own). Make this different from JSL so it is immediately obvious which editor is open (background might be most important part of this).   Bracket highlighting doesn't seem to work properly with Python in Script Editor.   When using single-quotes they aren't being auto-matched   Add some sort of opinionated formatter for Python (ruff, black, ...) which could be used with Reformat Script   Disable JSL auto-complete from Script Editor when using Python (or add one which supports Python).     Why is this idea important?  Makes writing Python in Script Editor easier and more fun. What inspired this wish list request? I will get graph builder to a state that looks really good for exploring data, fitted to my whole screen, and I will need to make some changes to the layout.  It is inconvenient to have to show the control panel, make the change and then remove the control panels.  For example, I may want to overlay a factor for one or two items in a column switcher then remove it for the remaining ones.  Or I may want to change the variables that a smoother respects.     What is the improvement you would like to see? I would like to see the ability for the Graph builder controls be in a floating window, so elements change be changed without having to open and close the "fixed" control panel.   So have a window that looks like this where it won't show any data but shows the general layout and chart elements that you can manipulate but can be on another monitor so you can change the layout of the chart but not affect the viewing of the data. What inspired this wish list request? Something I have talked about with people before, but the wish list is the better place for the request     What is the improvement you would like to see? When you release an addin you can set the min/max JMP version. If the version of JMP open doesn't jive with this addin, the addin isn't shown at all. I want an update so the addin is visible but grayed out.     Why is this idea important? When an addin is sometimes there or not, or it's a newly installed addin that doesn't show up, the first inclination of a user is to think something went wrong so they may try again to install or they call the person who made the addin (me) and ask why it's not working. If it was present but grayed out, it's much easier to ensure that the addin is present, but something else is the cause.     ... View more

Specifically, I am suggesting a feature similar to Minitab, where user can input all their variables and receive recommendations for applicable graph types. What inspired this wish list request?  When I use filters JMP is very happy to add Where(something something something) text box to all of my reports.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  Add option to local data filter to prevent the creation of Where text boxes. Option could be located inside red triangle of (local) data filter I don't want to see this TextBox     Why is this idea important?  If I'm using a filter I already know my Where statement (it is visualized as the filter...). What inspired this wish list request?  Resetting preferences when changing JMP versions is problematic because pre-existing preferences often get removed. The JSL Set Platform Preferences() command does not run if missing preferences are listed. Additionally, the alert only gives a few messages at a time, so multiple iterations have to be run to work through the list.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  Is there a way to only generate the list of preferences set/modified by the user? The command currently seems to publish all preferences (unchanged/default and user set/modified). I primarily only care about the former. Is there a way to have the JSL commands ignore missing preferences? Is there a way to get a full list of missing preferences in one alert? Can JMP provide detailed documentation on which preferences ihave been removed for a major version change?   Why is this idea important?  This will enable aster changeover to and adoption of new versions of JMP.     ... What inspired this wish list request?  Removing all columns from quick columns can be unintuitive. Let's say you pick two columns to group by but then you wish to remove those. You will have to select EXACTLY those two columns to clear group by -> if you select any more those will be added to group by, if you select all columns old ones will be removed and new ones added. So you end up in this cycle where you are continuously right clicking on separate columns and checking which columns are still in group by.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  I would like to see few possible changes.   1. Add new option "Clear Group By". This would remove all columns from the group by   2. Figure out how to make adding/removing columns more intuitive (add new buttons Add to Group, Remove From Group? instead of just having a toggle). Example follows:   I have Semiconductor Capability table open and I wish to create grouping column. First I think I need to have lot_id and wafer as my group columns, I select then and make them into the group. Then I remember that I have to include SITE to my group. I still have my lot_id and wafer selected so I just add SITE to selection and click group by What I will end up with is just SITE in the group And it can get even messier when you try to add more columns and finally try to clear them...   Why is this idea important?  JMP is interactive tool and it should be easy to use as possible.
