What inspired this wish list request?  I teach JMP at Seagate.  I find a lot of students are using really inefficient compression when manipulating large datasets.  This means that their performance is much lower than it could be.     What is the improvement you would like to see?  Currently displaying the bytes / row requires me to look at the columns properties -> data subtype.   Then I have to look at the columns one at a time.  I want to be able to quickly flip through my data table and see which columns are contributing the most to file size.    Why is this idea important?  It's so important for people to optimize their data type, but almost none of my co-workers do it.   Even when I'm aware of the issue I have to manually dig through column properties to see the bytes/row.   It should be really easy to impliment this feature and make my life easier.   ... What inspired this wish list request?  When printing a dashboard or series of charts, there's no easy way to print everything cleanly onto one sheet of paper for our reports. I use a wide screen monitor so I have to change the JMP window to what I can eyeball is the correct aspect ratio of the paper and then try to rearrange my dashboard to the correct sizes and ratios before pressing print preview to see if i was anywhere correct. Usually I'm incorrect the first couple times leading to lost time and wasted print area.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  I would love similar to excel the ability to create an overlay that shows the print area for your selected print size. so I can arrange everything to fit within the page margins. The ability to unequally scale my graphs when fitting to one page.  Possibly a method to lock my window's aspect ratio to a "print format" so I can change everything in that window before sending the print option. So it doesn't need to be in a print preview window, the window is just already at proper print ratios. And with all this, being able to scale, an option to have text displayed in graphs scale so it's always at a certain size. shrinking down screenshots to fit a print area crunches the readable data.    Why is this idea important?  We use a lot of paper printouts for data. What inspired this wish list request?  When developing dashboards for JMP Live that contain large numbers of products with significantly different run rates, the visualizations can quickly become noisy and difficult to interpret. This is especially true when multiple products share the same equipment or manufacturing track. For example: Product A runs approximately 5 lots per week Product B runs approximately 79 lots per week Product C runs approximately 2 lots every 5 weeks All three products run on the same equipment track. While the dashboard correctly displays the full population of data, the large differences in run frequency can cause the higher-volume products to dominate the visualizations. This makes it difficult for users to focus on lower-volume products or perform targeted outlier analysis. Users often request the ability to isolate or filter specific product populations within the dashboard so they can investigate trends, anomalies, or performance issues without the noise from unrelated data. What is the improvement you would like to see?  An enhancement that would allow users to interactively select or filter subsets of data directly within a JMP Live dashboard would significantly improve usability. Ideally, this would include the ability to: Select specific regions of a graph (such as lasso or box selection) to dynamically filter the dataset Filter by product, equipment, or other categorical variables directly from the visualization Update all linked graphs in the dashboard based on the selected subset This type of interactive filtering would allow analysts to quickly narrow down to the most relevant population without needing to create multiple versions of the same dashboard.   Why is this idea important?  Interactive filtering would make dashboards more effective for both analysis and communication. Analysts could quickly isolate specific product populations for outlier investigations, while operational teams could view the data most relevant to their work. This would improve usability, reduce the need to create multiple dashboards for different product groups, and make it easier to communicate insights during pass-down discussions and team reviews. What inspired this wish list request?  In many case (in my experiences) in the Variability Charts, I need to set different Reference Lines by different Groups   What is the improvement you would like to see?  In the Variability Charts I would like to have (in the "Y-axis Setting Menu") the possibilty to set different lines (value, label, line color, line style) according different Groups in the X-axis;   Why is this idea important?  The value added is to have a precise different reference lines and label with a very high speed to created this indications.   ... What inspired this wish list request? Need for a quick visual queue of validity of data in a cell based on data in another column. What is the improvement you would like to see? Pretty simple change to the "Column Properties-- Value Color" under Column info.   Current functionality lets the user color cells based on the value in the cell which is a nice feature.  A very nice, "simple" addition to this feature would be to allow the user to color the cell based on the value from a different column.  For example I have a data quality check saying pass/fail in one column but then I want to flag the cell by making the Cell red in the current numeric column when the data quality is "fail" in the other column. Why is this idea important? Simple visual queue can provide a quick interpretation of data in the table before even plotting it.  Of course the entire row can be colored fairly easily through Row WHERE selection, but when there are multiple quality checks for different columns it make sense to be able to color individual cells in the table and not the entire row.     ... What inspired this wish list request?  I work with data visualisation a lot - and it's sometimes difficult to visualise multiple influences on a response, due to the limitation in the number of ways of visualisation (eg, colour, symbol shape)   What is the improvement you would like to see?  It would be really useful when exploring multiple possible influences on data to be able to assign symbol open/filled appearance to a two-level variable (ie, column).   Why is this idea important?  This would faciliate additional visualisation options and mark JMP out as the gold standard data visualisation software.    ... What inspired this wish list request? Being able to highlight X amount of data points to triage in JMP live      What is the improvement you would like to see? Not any improvement needed for the triage but if I was able to go about the same way of highlighting the X amount of data points on a control chart it would be nice when I right click to triage there would be another option like "Start of phase 1" or simply "Phase 1" and it would phase accordingly. weather it is a scripting option or built in.     Why is this idea important? For me it's that the people who view these posts will more than likely not use JMP desktop or any software we use to collect and store data so they won't be able to set phases for process changes      if there is in fact a way to do something like this, I have not found it.   ... What inspired this wish list request?  We aggregate some datasets like a 2D topology map to min and max values. If we now perform SPC on the min value, an upper control limit is not necessary and JMP / JMP-Live are at the moment not capable. With JSL I could trigger a one-sided SPC, but this is a bug and can't be translated to JMP-Live (triage won't work on this variables) What is the improvement you would like to see?  JMP and JMP-Live are capable of handling one-sided control limits.   Why is this idea important?  At the moment, we need to set imaginary control limits that could trigger false alarms and needs additional resources to manage without benefits.   ... What inspired this wish list request?  There are often times when it would be nice to have units appear as we might write them by hand, e.g. g/cm 3 instead of g/cm^3, or even with some text as a subscript: sample BKG  , but JMP does not make this easy. In fact, they seem to have taken away the copy/paste feature where you could write the text in Word and then copy/paste it into JMP and the formatting would be brought over into JMP.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  I'd like to see JMP add this text editing capability into JMP (and into JSL in particular for customization).   Why is this idea important?  It's important because it helps to improve messaging to the "consumer". People like to see additional information as subscript or superscripts. No one likes to read smapleBKG or g/cm3, they want the improved visual cues that comes with being able to move ANY text to superscript or subscript.   ... View more

I did functional data DOE with current JMP Functional data explorer platform. I can get very good model with Functional DOE. in red triangle beside Functional DOE analysis, we have save columns and with that, we have the options available to save prediction formula and save residual formula. This is very good because I can use the prediction formula to create prediction profiler in Graph > Profiler.  However, when I try to save the std error of predicted formula, I can only go to Generalized regression for FPC scores tab and choose Normal Best subset with AICc validation and find save column and then choose std error of predicted formula. But this function does not give me the std error of predicted formula in my data. Please add the ability, under save columns, under the Functional DOE analysis tab to save the PredSE formula for the functional DOE prediction (in addition to the save prediction formula option), because this will help me to show the correct prediction function in the Prediction Profiler.  This offers two unique advantages. 1. With the predSE formula, the confidence intervals around the prediction can then be constructed in Graph > Profiler, with the Response as a function of the Predictors. This is a critically important expression of the Functional DOE problem statement (not just the FPCs as a function of the Predictors inside the GenReg for FPC Scores Outline) because it provides directly interpretable estimates of uncertainty around the model Predicted Response (as a function of the Predictors). 2. Functional DOE analysis does not always show the Prediction Profiler even inside the FDE Platform, especially when we have constraints with our design factors or design space is limited. What inspired this wish list request?  When analyzing data using this platform with a By variable, "the make combined data table" option does not include all the analyses if they are different types. For example, if some use Bayesian variance component estimates and some do not.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  Include all types of estimates into one data table. What inspired this wish list request? In the Model script, the Effect Tests Report has a helpful feature where the significance column (Prob > F) conditionally formats the values in eye-catching colors to make it easier to glean the information quickly, especially for a large number of effects. For example, values <0.05 are colored orange, and I assume that values <0.01 are colored red (correct me if I'm wrong for the latter threshold, though). However, the Effect Summary Report does not have this formatting for its PValue/FDR PValue column.   What is the improvement you would like to see? It would be nice if the Effect Summary Report also conditionally formatted the PValue/FDR PValue columns just like the Effect Tests Report, especially since they are pretty much reporting the same PValues.   Why is this idea important? Sometimes, when I am removing insignificant effects from the Effect Summary Report, I accidentally remove some that do have significance. I tend to make this mistake when I have a long list of effects with some bordering on significance, as after a while the numbers all start to blur together. That's why I appreciate the conditional formatting for the Effect Tests Report, where the orange and red coloring are much more readable and eye-catching. I feel that having this same formatting for the Effect Summary Report would make it a lot easier to identify insignificant effects quickly and avoid removing borderline significant ones by mistake. I recognize this may be a minor thing, but I think it would be a very helpful ease-of-use feature for those of us who have to regularly trim a lot of models for things like process characterization.   ... What inspired this wish list request?  Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test in this platform calculates exact p-values for n ≤ 20, but uses an asymptotic approximation for larger datasets. P&G Grooming needs the possibility to take the Exact Test for higher sample sizes too.     What is the improvement you would like to see?  Users should have the choice to decide for which sample size they switch to the asymptotic approximation.   Why is this idea important?  SPSS has this possibility, JMP not.   ... What inspired this wish list request?   At one time there was a nice add-in, Correlate Y by X Add-in that computed both the standard Pearsons correlation along with Non-Parametric fits.  It was very easy to engage and worked well.  However, that add-in has not worked on the newer versions of JMP.  It is very common to use the non-parametric rank and the Spearmans rho for many applications.       What is the improvement you would like to see?  Simply find a way to enable that add-in to work in JMP19    Why is this idea important?  Currently, the only way to access a non-parametric correlation to obtain a Spearmans rho value is the multivariate test platform.  That can work well if the number of variables is low.  But in many cases, the desire is to have a one by many correlation calculated.  And when the many are several hundred, the multivariate platform is simply inapproriate for that purpose.     ... What inspired this wish list request?  In Graph Builder, the Category Filter currently orders category levels only by element count. While this default behavior is useful in some cases, it becomes limiting when the analysis is focused on other key metrics. For example, when analyzing categories by total value, average performance, or median response, the filter order does not reflect the most relevant information for the analysis. As a result, users need to manually scan or adjust charts to identify important categories, which is not always efficient.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  I would like to see the Category Filter in Graph Builder allow ordering by additional statistics or parameters, aligned with the existing chart order options. For example, users could choose to order categories by: Sum Mean Median (Potentially other summary statistics already supported by Graph Builder) This could be implemented as an additional sorting option within the Category Filter settings, similar to the order controls available for graphs. Consistency between filter ordering and chart ordering would significantly improve usability and analytical workflow.   Why is this idea important?  This improvement would: Enhance data exploration by letting users focus immediately on the most relevant categories Improve consistency between how data is displayed in charts and how categories are presented in filters Reduce manual effort when working with large numbers of categories Support more meaningful and efficient analysis when key insights depend on statistics other than count Overall, this enhancement would make Graph Builder more intuitive and powerful, especially for users performing advanced or metric-driven analyses.   ... What inspired this wish list request? Tedious and frequent manual procedures to restore the structure of complex JMP outputs in PowerPoint: Limited translatability of page structure (page break, columns) from JMP to PowerPoint (i.e., Export >> PowerPoint). Note: Export to PDF is not a solution due to the image format and low resolution (PNG). What is the improvement you would like to see?  Option to output JMP reports (Journals and custom Windows) to PowerPoint and/or Google Slides, including page format features.
