The mouse scroll wheel works great for scrolling vertically in data tables, but there doesn't seem to be any way to scroll horizontally with the scroll wheel in Windows.   Suggest adding shift-scroll (hold down shift key while using the scroll wheel) to scroll data tables left or right horizontally on Windows.   (Note, this already works very well on the Mac.) ... What inspired this wish list request?  We do have lots of different handlers (which work or not and are useful or not with the current implementations... but that is separate wish list item which already exists) but there isn't one for reports. One case which is most common for me is that user modifies how graph builder looks like and I would like to trigger something based on that.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  I would like to see a new handler for reports. This handler would trigger when user makes changes to the report. Some examples: Columns have changes in some role Frame sizes have changed Title was changed Axis min/max value changed ...   Why is this idea important?  Allows easier access to changes in JMP reports for scripters. What inspired this wish list request?  There are some features of interactive Dashboards which are not implemented in interactive HTML yet. If such a feature is present in a Dashboard, the exported HTML file will no be interactive and a message is displayed: A question that arises very often: why is a local data filter not interactive: The Data Filter window is not interacting in HTML    JMP16 HTML Filter Disabled  Interactive HTML reports - local data filters not working in JMP 16?  Interactive HTML & JMP report: different behavior, different values  Need help. Got some error during create interactive HTML file  JMP16 Graph Builder publish in HTML not interactive      an the easy solution: it's due to the "Include" functionality: the graph adjusts (fit lins, X/Y Groups, plot region etc.)  to the displayed data points.  And at the moment, such an interactive adjustment is not yet possible in interactive HTML. A kind of solution: disable the Include mode.   There is a similar issue with "filter by" or "filter + 1 dashboard", where one graph is used to filter the other graphs in the Dashboard.   In this post: Filtered data function didn't work for JMP 14 dashboard interactive HTML report   @John_Powell_JMP provided a workaround: replace the selection graph with a local data filter and disable include mode. Till 2020, selection filters have not been implemented in Interactive HTML. when @josh_markwordt reported that  a request was added for the feature request being used internally to track it. What inspired this wish list request? This is a repeat request but wanted to move it back up the line due to the new graph features in JMP 18.  With the ability to "stack" charts using the "page" chart element in graph builder, there is now no easy way to broadcast using gridlines in the Y axis across multiple graph panels.  If I want to gridlines to these charts I have to do them one at a time: If I try and broadcast the gridlines then the axis min/max and intervals get broadcast as well, negating the usefulness of the "stacking".   Here is the original request.   Global preference suggestions for more flexibility and efficiency in graphs - JMP User Community     What is the improvement you would like to see? Please allow the X and Y axis grid settings to be turned on in the preferences independently.       Why is this idea important?  It allows more chart flexibility and makes the new graph type in JMP 18 Graph Builder more useful   ... Even after generation of the Dashboard, the user can add variables to the Data filter - and use them to highlight points in the plots! Hello,   Can Graph Builder be enhanced to add a numeric secondary Y-axis on the right side with the same features and capabilities as the primary one? The current workaround involves dragging the variables to the left-side axis, formatting them as needed, and then moving them right. In some cases, that can get cumbersome / convoluted and having a dedicated axis (separate from the already available Category Y) would be extremely helpful. I would like to suggest the ability to simply 'pick files' from the list in a folder rather than figuring out a filter to apply or moving some files into separate folder.   Use Case: I have a dozen random-ish files in a folder and I want to combine 4 of them. Rather than finding a filter which would allow only those 4 files to be shown, I want to be able to ctrl+click them to build the list manually. I have tried to use different state handlers JMP provides, but the more I use them the more I notice issues with them. There are many reasons why I would like to use them and maybe even more reasons for me to avoid them. Biggest issue is usually that they seem to trigger too many times and value returned is not that helpful.   Subscribe To Data Table List() is fairly good example on how most of these should work. You can add different functions to different events (sometimes it is a hassle though). You can imagine how well Subscribe To Data Table List() would work if it would trigger every time something happens to data table list (add, remove, rename) and it would return only data table name for example (or number of data tables changed...) and nothing more.   Below are some problems and suggestions: Hover Label Problem Seems to get triggered when you move close to the point you want to hover over. This causes multiple triggers and slows down JMP unnecessarily and sometimes this slow-down is quite big. Also triggers immediately when you hover over point -> if you move mouse fast over multiple elements it will trigger multiple times. Also triggers multiple times on hover over (could be related to all of the things mentioned earlier) Suggestions Make it more accurate when hover label triggers. Add possibility for "delay" when to trigger event, for example I would like to be able to trigger hover label after user has hovered over same element for 0.2s. Also allow selection of "safe-zone" to determine when hover label should even trigger.   Row State Handler Problem Triggers too many times and all events. Has a bug where you remove row, the row state handler seems to get removed. Suggestions Most likely would be enough if there was a way to capture only specific row state changes (and fix the bug).   Filter State Handler Problem Triggers too many times. One example is that if you even look at the filter the state handler will trigger. Suggestions Remove unnecessary triggers from Filter State Handler or give possibility to choose which states should trigger which function.   Scheduler Problem Can have only one scheduler at the time and you cannot hide the scheduler window. Suggestions Allow creation of private schedulers (currently I hide the window and hope that user won't close it) and multiple different schedulers at the same time. ... View more

What inspired this wish list request?  Having a custom new window which used multiple data tables for reports and I couldn't freely choose which table was associated data.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  Let as choose which data table is used as associated data table in a new window (at least for Type("Report") windows). In best case Associated Data could even have multiple items and user could select from a list which to bring front. This would require slight change to the icon (add down arrow next to it like "Select for Arrange" has).   Why is this idea important?  Makes "View Associated Data" somewhat useful for windows which have multiple reports.   I do have a workaround for this in this post What determines which data table is seen as "Associated Data" for New Window? which I never got answer to.   ... What inspired this wish list request?  Graph Builder has a DropZone to automatically adjust the color of Data Points, Bar charts, Heat Maps etc. Whenever several rows of the data table are combined to produce one data point, bar, heatmap cell ... , the respective colors are blended. Instead of starting right-away with the start animation,  the HTML code could check if Java Code can be executed and if not: show a warning that it's actually the browser or the site which prevents the page to be loaded correctly. Then it could show a suggestion to download the file and open it from the hard drive.   Why is this idea important?  MS Teams, Sharepoint and Onedrive is used in many companies. Not every Company with Jmp licenses has a Jmp Live Server.   Therefore, users share interactive HTML files via Teams and Sharepoint - more and more in the future ....   If there are non-functional files, which were generated by Jmp,  this will "fall back" to Jmp. What inspired this wish list request?  The feature in Graph builder to stack multiple information to a hierarchical structure is very useful.   But the way how it is implemented is just good enough to generate data on work level. For publication or management meetings, it's way too complicated to analyze the axis title and convert the information to labels for the different levels of the hierarchy. This often help a lot to find the error very fast. What inspired this wish list request? Building times can be sometimes a hassle in JMP. You can do it with In Hours() + In Minutes() + second or with something like  Eval(Parse(Eval Insert("^hour^:^minute^:^second^")))   What is the improvement you would like to see?  Provide a new function which could be used to build time. We have one (or rather few) already for date such as Date DMY() but we could also have one for time such as Time HMS() and/or maybe Time DMYHMS() so we could build date+time in one function. What inspired this wish list request?  The process screening has Grouping columns as an option and the "original" order for the table is based on those (and the order of the Columns in the table).  It's not currently easy to get the table back to this ordering via JSL (this is the ordering you will get if you toggle click to sort to "off" position but the order you are presented the table in is always unavoidably based on stability index).  It's possible to hide the stability index column with stability index(0) but not to avoid the ordering.   ex:   Names Default To Here( 1 ); dt = Open( "$SAMPLE_DATA/Semiconductor Capability.jmp" ); //give a distinctive order to something in the grouping dt:Site << Set Property( "Value Order", {CustomOrder({3, 1, 2, 4, 5}), CommonOrder(0)} ); //as advertised that sorts the rows of the table by stability index //even if we don't include stability index obj = dt << Process Screening( Grouping( :Site, :lot_id ), Process Variables( Eval( 5 :: 132 ) ) , stabilityindex(0));   //try toggling the sorting with click see and see that there is a "special" order based on the groupings and order of process columns in the table //it honors that value order //but hard to get this ordering to appear via JSL           What is the improvement you would like to see?      Why is this idea important?      ... What inspired this wish list request?  I write a lot of code that is sometimes long and complex, as a result there's certain functionalities or expressions located throughout the code and it would be nice to have the ability to highlight a variable or function or expression and right click > Go To, and then the JSL Editor takes you to that block of code. Being able to more easily move around the code as needed would be very helpful     What is the improvement you would like to see?  A right click command that takes you to the highlighted section of code a Go To function or something similar. See screenshot.   It would be a functionality very much like if you have a tall data table and have highlighted a data point on a graph and use the Rows > Row Selection > Go To Row function, but this would be for functions and expressions and so forth in the JSL.      A Go To Line functionality would also be very helpful. For example, if you run your code and then it says there's an error at line 2657, sometimes it doesn't always jump to that location and having a Go To Line functionality where you enter the JSL line number and it takes you there could be very helpful.   Why is this idea important? It should make going from place to place in the code and be able to hop around much easier than having to do a Ctrl-F or something. Same with the Go To Line functionality, it would help to navigate longer JSL codes.   I know this would help me a lot, and could imagine it helping others who do a lot of scripting.   Thanks!, DS   ...
