  • How to customized color map levels in Clustering > Hierarchical (without standardization)?

I would like to modify the color setting (i.e. gradient) for the legend of a color map generated by the Clustering > Hierarchical. Specifically, I would like to center the color gradient to 0 and assign the maximum and minimum values manually so that the color map is symmetrical. In all other platforms that use color gradients, I just right-click the legend and edit its parameters but this option ...

  • How to store the current filename as entries in a new variable

Let's imagine we open cities.jmp. How could I get the name (pun intended) of 'cities' as entries for a new variable, say "MY_NAME". So, the variable-to-be "MY_NAME" contains multiple instances of 'cities'. By nature, it has to be character, and "MY_NAME" is not a variable, but a constant.   Anyway, any idea how do do this? I know there's a file function. GET NAME. But, I haven't made it so far to ...

    3)Normal Probability Plot ( Y,X)
Everything works fine if I just select the c...

  • Weighting Observations

I'm trying to pull some summary statistics out of a weighted dataset (e.g., proportion of the population that has blue as a favorite colour). However, JMP does not seem to automatically weight counts. Is there a way to get JMP to produce the weighted count? Thanks for your help.

  • Failing Normality Test

Dear all, I am trying to perform a normality test on a series of datasets similar to the one shown in the figure attached, and later compare them using ANOVA. However, when I perform the normality test, I keep getting what I considered to be a ‘false negative.’ As you can see from the screenshot of the journal, the dataset as a whole resembles a normal distribution, even though there are only abou...

  • Selecting Number of Clusters in Hierarchical Clustering

One way to select possible number of clusters in hierarchical methods is to identify the relatively large changes in distance as number of clusters change (see table below). When I look at the actual distance measure from the table (clustering history below dendogram), there is a bigger jump from 3 clusters to 4 than from 4 to 5 (smaller), suggesting 4 may be the right decision. However, when you ...
