  • Non-normal distributions in the Process Capability and Process Screening Platforms

Hi all, I am writing a script to aid my team in analyzing process capabilities for many properties across a variety of products. It seems like the Process Capability and Process Screening platforms are the ideal way to do that, but I'm struggling to get those platforms to handle non-normal distributions. When I assign Distribution or Process Capability Distribution properties to a column, the plat...

  • Combined GR&R

Hi everyone,   I'm conducting a GaugeR&R Analysis using a crossed 6-sigma process, Where my setup is 5 units, 3 employees and 3 stations.  How can I tell what are the variance components when I calculate a combined setup where I aim for a unified single result? (using JMP 18) Thank you in advance

  • “Out of spec rate” calculation

Dear JMP community, How is the “Out of spec rate” calculated in JMP (see image below)? The tool can be found in the evaluation of Ppk and Cpk values.   In JMP there are no formulas provided for the “Out of spec rate” calculation. Is this based on an assumed normal distribution and the spec limits?

    Thank you in advance.
    Best regards
    Maximilian

  • Confidence Intervals For Cpk

I was trying to replicate the confidence intervals for Cpk in JMP.  I found this page which details the formula: https://www.jmp.com/support/help/en/17.0/#page/jmp/statistical-details-for-capability-analysis.shtml This page says the equation is: So this is the example I am trying to match,    since it is 95%, the lower confidence interval should be (32 is the sample sample size):    This equals, 6...

  • How do I test for unequal variances in mixed model?

I want to test if the measurement (intermediate) precision from two different labs are different. My data usually consist of the same sample being measured k times per day, across n days in each of the two labs. I analyze the data using Fit Model with lab as fixed effect, and Day as random effect. I would like to compare the total variation (within and between days) between the two labs - somethin...
