  • How to estimate the ideal sample size to validate failure rate in a process?

Hello!I have a factory process with a hypothesized failure rate of p=0.02, based on previous trials.I would like to get the ideal sample size to validate if my process has a failure rate no larger than 0.02. How would you approach this? Thanks in advance :)

  • Main effect screening design vs. OFAT: which is best?

Hello, In JMP, under DOE > Classical > Two Level Screening > Screening Design > "Construct a main effects screening design", there is the possibility to create a screening design investigating main effects only. The result with 8 parameters is shown in attachment. What would be the advantage of this design compared to an OFAT, where each of the 8 parameters would be investigated at a high and low ...

  • Any idea why Move Selected Columns works with a list was changed in JMP17?

Just noticed that my Analyse Columns doesn't work with JMP17, or even worse it returns incorrect data. Issue is that JMP17 has changed how Move Selected Columns works with a list. Names Default To Here(1); dt = Open( "$SAMPLE_DATA/Big Class.jmp"); list = {"sex", "name"}; wait(1); dt << Move Selected Columns(list, To Last); show(JMP Version()); With this simple example you can see that JMP17 igno...

  • What my factors are divided for?

Hello,I'm new in the world of DoE. I noticed that all my factors are divided by 0.23 but I really can't understand what that number means. Can someone help me? Thank you

  • Run Order with JMP DOE

Hi, I have to set-up a DOE (Response Surface) where I have a machine as blocking factor. Since it is very time consuming to change the temperature of the machine, I want to have the run order of the DOE with temperature going from low to high. Right now, when I design the DOE, JMP gives me high, low and then intermediate.

  • Getting NonEstimable values when crossing variables due to control setup

Hi,   I'm working on a dataset where we are testing the effects of 2 treatments and the delay between them, and I'm trying to figure out how to line up my variables so I can do a Dunnett's test against various controls. We are giving animals a dose of drug A (Variable A), waiting some time (T), and then giving them a dose of drug B . If the animal is NOT given drug A (= 0), then T doesn't have a m...

Hello,Is there a statistical shortcut in JMP to calculating Z-prime (Z') or SSMD (strictly standardized mean difference)? I'm searched around but I keep getting sent to trainings on Z-score.JB4

  • DOE

Hello,A general question regarding an application of DOE. I have a dataset with 30 independent features. The response is yield. Of course the data is rather noisy and when I run Random Forest (RF), I get at best R^2 of 70% on the validation data. To conduct an actual DOE is not possible at all due to logistics of it. However, let's say I take the RF model as my data generating process. I then desi...

  • Simulation Experiment

I used prediction profiler to find parameters to maximize desirability, then simulated to table. Then I was taught in a JMP class to "use TLC drop down toolbar, click Edge of Failure script". I think it might be from an add-on, but I don't know how to get there again. This I was taught to use to narrow Factors until I get below a certain OOS failure rate. It's a nice feature and visual graph, but ...

  • DOE - Augment Design to Focus on More Narrow Range

Hi, Question: Is there a way, to add runs to a DOE (Augment Design), which adds a focused range of a factor. This way you can evaluate a wider range, and also focus on the expected optimal range based on prior knowledge. Ex. 25 runs with a factor(A) of 0-100 + 5 runs with factor(A) of 0-30 Background:I have created a definitive screening design which ranges my factors very wide. I have prior knowl...

  • How to adjust the factor range for specific factors within an ongoing DOE

Hi, I designed a DOE that has two independent buffers. This DOE will range components in each buffer which will be used in a processing step sequentially. IE, buffer A, followed by buffer B. We already prepared for the DOE, and formulated the A buffers as per the recommended design. For the B buffers, we intended on ranging 2 components but later decided to reduce to ranging one component, and als...

  • Discrete Choice Experiment: Prohibited Combination

Hi everyone,I would like to design my first DCE. I am going to use 6 attributes that differ in the levels from 2 to 4 levels. However, I have a limitation where there is an impossible combination that may appear; for example, the cheapest product would not be possible to have the best feature. Is there any way for me to select the prohibited combination? Or, is the D-optimal design will always cal...
