  • Mixture DOE with covariate batch effects

I have to generate a DOE with 7 mixture effects and 6 continuous covariate factors. The covariate factors are measurements of raw material batches, only 20 bathes are available. Mixture and quadratic covariariate effects as well as mixture -covariate interactions need to be estimate using a Kowalski with only 2nd order interactions. The number of runs exceeds #batches so repeated sampling from eac...

  • How to Include a 'No Shift' Scenario in a Temperature Shift DOE

I'm currently working on a Design of Experiments (DOE) for a process that involves temperature shifts at three different times. My challenge is incorporating a 'No Shift' scenario as one of the factors. My initial idea was to:Treat the three time points for temperature shifts (1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours) as a continuous factor.Introduce a 'No Shift' scenario as a categorical factor (yes/no).However,...

  • Suggestion on experimental design strategy for chemical synthesis

Happy Sunday, a wonderful community of JMP! I will likely have to design and run a set or sequential experiments to maximize the yield of chemical synthesis. Someone in our group ran this chemical reaction in the past. However, my manager wants me to repeat this reaction to better understand the relationship between reaction conditions and yield. Based on the historical data, there are three takea...

  • Full Factorial vs. Face Centered Response Surface Matrix

I have to factors and am trying to model a response. I only have 12 allowable runs and blocks are not an option here. I'm trying to figure which is the best approach here to optimize, assess curvature behavior and get the most out of the data. Here is my design: The resulting DoE (full factorial, 1 replicate, 3 center points) seems good but under Fit Model, it says I'm not to estimate quadratic te...

  • Can JMP produce a graph to visually represent an experiment design?

Is there any way JMP is able to produce a visual representation of a DoE?

  • Which predictive analysis method/column organisation for RSM output with duplicate samples

Hi all. So I'm working on a project where I have 2 x component classes, each of which has 4 items within the class, which are mixed together at varying concentrations over 48 combinations. Figured the best Factor way to do this was to use 2 x Continuous for the max/min concentrations for each class, then 2 x 4-level Categoricals for each of the items. Each of the combinations was made twice, so af...

  • DOE- organic synthesis

Hi all,I am trying to set up a synthesis optimization using JMP's DOE.I have two continuous factors Time (12-24h) and temperature (160-200oC).I then want to include a mixture of three chemicals: Citric acid, urea and formamide.I read up on using the mixture factor feature on JMP's guide but my mixture don't like the idea of all adding up to a sum. This is problem number one currently.I expect I wi...

  • Could JMP optimize factors with uncertainty?

Hello community!!,A question: will it be possible for the profiler to find the best combinations of factors with uncertainty when performing a simulation, which maximize the total utility and minimize the total cost, generating a table of the best combinations found? For example:

  • Caution: Places where Jmp does something unexpected

Definitely, JMP is Not a Spreadsheet . And that's great!! Besides this difference, there are other places where Jmp doesn't do/behave/produce what a newbie / innocent Jmp user expects.
If a user knows these issues and the remedies and workarounds -  he/she can
    a) save a lot of time b) be safe from data loss c) be sure that the results are as expected.

  • Getting NonEstimable values when crossing variables due to control setup

Hi,   I'm working on a dataset where we are testing the effects of 2 treatments and the delay between them, and I'm trying to figure out how to line up my variables so I can do a Dunnett's test against various controls. We are giving animals a dose of drug A (Variable A), waiting some time (T), and then giving them a dose of drug B . If the animal is NOT given drug A (= 0), then T doesn't have a m...

  • How to adjust the factor range for specific factors within an ongoing DOE

Hi, I designed a DOE that has two independent buffers. This DOE will range components in each buffer which will be used in a processing step sequentially. IE, buffer A, followed by buffer B. We already prepared for the DOE, and formulated the A buffers as per the recommended design. For the B buffers, we intended on ranging 2 components but later decided to reduce to ranging one component, and als...
