  • Screening Design and Response Surface Design with Multiple Responses

Hi,  I use JMP Pro 17 for response surface design. I have 13 design variables. First I perform a Screening Design to decide on which 8 parameters are the most effective on the response, then I vary those 8 parameters to conduct a Response Surface Design. (8 is the maximum number of variables JMP accepts for Response Surface Design.) I conduct 33 experiments (with 1 center point) for Screening Desi...

  • Definitive screening Design - Replicates

I did a Design of experiment using a definitive screening design. JMP gave me 23 experiments divided by 3 blocks (block 1 has 9 experiments, and block 2 and 3 have 7 experiments each).
In each experiment I needed to fill 20 vials.
So, the way I found to process my data was to add replicates, so each vial of the 20 would be a replicate of the experiment. For all the 23 experiments I have 20 replicat...

  • JMP Two level Screening is giving me a different Design every time

Hi! I am very new to JMP just as an fyi.. But I am trying to utilize the DOE Two-level Screening function. I had already gotten a design using this function however,  I am now trying to recreate this same output. I used the same factors and the same amount of runs yet I am getting a different outcome. Is this just a part of how the JMP software works?

  • Taking All of the Quadratic and Binary Effects into Account in Screening Design

Hi,  I conduct an optimization study using JMP Pro 17. My problem has 13 design variables and I try to perform a Screening Design. I perform Screening Design from the ‘DOE --> Classical --> Two Level Screening --> Screening Design’ menu. As the Screening type I choose ‘choose from a list of fractional factorial designs’ (Picture1_DOE_ScreeningDesign).The options I chose next are as follows:‘Number...

  • Importing of csv data

I am working on a large DoE where in total we need to measure more than 10.000 pieces, the measurement is done in a Renishaw CMM, and the way the program is made it has to calibrate every 50 pieces, and then it outputs a file for each characteristic which leads to alot of files having to imported, and today I am using the import function and then copy pasting the results into my master data sheet....

  • How do I get a list of all combinations that can give greater than a threshold of the response in JMP DoE RSM model

This may sound like a basic question. I am a fairly new user.  I had designed a RSM model with four factors A,B, C, and D. After conducting the experiments and loading the results, the model suggests, all three factors are significant and that the interaction factor between A and D is also significant- with positive correlation. The interaction between factors B and C is a significant factor but h...

  • Adding repeated measurements to a DOE

I am currently trying to set up an experimental design using JMP PRO to study the impact of 3 variables on an extraction process. Two of these variables are continuous (pressure and concentration). The third variable is the amount of times I run my sample through the machine (from 1 to 4 times). How can I add this to my design in the most efficient way? I tried making an I-optimal RSM design but t...

  • Which predictive analysis method/column organisation for RSM output with duplicate samples

Hi all. So I'm working on a project where I have 2 x component classes, each of which has 4 items within the class, which are mixed together at varying concentrations over 48 combinations. Figured the best Factor way to do this was to use 2 x Continuous for the max/min concentrations for each class, then 2 x 4-level Categoricals for each of the items. Each of the combinations was made twice, so af...

  • Could JMP optimize factors with uncertainty?

Hello community!!,A question: will it be possible for the profiler to find the best combinations of factors with uncertainty when performing a simulation, which maximize the total utility and minimize the total cost, generating a table of the best combinations found? For example:

  • Caution: Places where Jmp does something unexpected

Definitely, JMP is Not a Spreadsheet . And that's great!! Besides this difference, there are other places where Jmp doesn't do/behave/produce what a newbie / innocent Jmp user expects.
If a user knows these issues and the remedies and workarounds -  he/she can
    a) save a lot of time b) be safe from data loss c) be sure that the results are as expected.

  • Getting NonEstimable values when crossing variables due to control setup

Hi,   I'm working on a dataset where we are testing the effects of 2 treatments and the delay between them, and I'm trying to figure out how to line up my variables so I can do a Dunnett's test against various controls. We are giving animals a dose of drug A (Variable A), waiting some time (T), and then giving them a dose of drug B . If the animal is NOT given drug A (= 0), then T doesn't have a m...

  • How to adjust the factor range for specific factors within an ongoing DOE

Hi, I designed a DOE that has two independent buffers. This DOE will range components in each buffer which will be used in a processing step sequentially. IE, buffer A, followed by buffer B. We already prepared for the DOE, and formulated the A buffers as per the recommended design. For the B buffers, we intended on ranging 2 components but later decided to reduce to ranging one component, and als...
