Hi,

When I run a control chart, the average is expressed as 'µ0'. This is not incorrect, however, our quality department would like to see 'Mean' instead. Is there a way to change the label from 'µ0' to 'Mean'?

Thanx

Names Default To Here( 1 );

dt = Open( "$SAMPLE_DATA/Quality Control/Coating.jmp" );

obj = Control Chart( Sample Size( :Sample ), Chart Col( :Weight, XBar, R ), Get Limits( "$SAMPLE_DATA/Quality Control/CoatingLimits.jmp" ) );

Unfortunately, there's no good way to override that labeling. That's what we use to indicate the limits are specified rather computed.

The Control Chart Builder platform handles this a bit differently. It provides a Limits Summaries report instead of labeling the limits lines.

Names Default To Here

(1);dt = Open

("$SAMPLE_DATA/Quality Control/Coating.jmp"

);obj =

Control Chart Builder

(Variables

(Subgroup

(:Sample),Y

(:Weight)

),Chart

(Position

(1),Points

(Statistic("Average")),Limits

(Sigma("Range"))

),Chart

(Position

(2),Points

(Statistic("Range")),Limits

(Sigma("Range"))

),Get Limits

("$SAMPLE_DATA/Quality Control/CoatingLimits.jmp"

)

);

Re: How to change 'µ0' to 'mean' on a control chart?

Thank you. It might not be the answer I was looking for, but I did expect it, since I could not access the 'µ0' label using the GUI.
