  • Negative numbers in prediction profiler when zero is limit

I have attached an 8 mixture custom DoE in which 3 ingredients are constant.  When I run the model, the prediction profiler predicts the maximum Y1 & Y2 within reason of the actual maximum.  But when I minimize the desirabilities, I get negative values.  How is it getting these numbers and how would I prevent any predictions falling well below the actual low response values?

  • How to estimate standard deviation for large population from small samples size

HiIf I have the distribution of data from small sample size (e.g. N=250, 1000), and would like to estimate the distribution (e.g. sigma) of data on large population (e.g. N=1 million)?   What is the confidence level / error on the prediction ?(Assume the distribution is Normal distribution or same shape for small/large population)Thanks!Kelvin

  • How to retrieve group names from by-group objects?

Dear all,I just try to get my head around access to by group object list and how to access them. I wrote a nice little program that runs a bubble plot by country and as it is a moving one I want to save it as SWF. All this shall become a regular report so I want to automate the filename assigned. As the filename I want to have Country_date_otherparameterfromprogram.swf. Date and the other paramete...

  • how to plot an equation

Hello,I'm a new user to JMP and I have a simple question to seek your help. I would like to ask JMP to plot a graph using an input equation, how do I do that? The equation is as follows:(c1-constant1)/(constant2 - constant1) = (constant3 * c2)/(1-(1-constant3)*c2)where c1 and c2 = column 1 and column 2 respectively.i.e. I have two columns of experimental data (column 1 and column 2) and ultimately ...

  • Generating random data based on correlation matrix

Is there a method to have JMP generate random data that fits a specified correlation matrix.  I want to be able to specify the desired correlation matrix (and sample size), and generate random (multivariate normal) data that is based on the specified matrix.

  • What robust methods are common for Process Capability Indices for Non-Nornal distributions?

In Europe, we found it common to use Cpkn as a non-normal Cpk metric, where mean was replaced with median, and stdev was replaced with IQR/1.35.   For some "regulatory" or "customer" reports, this seems to be accepted rather than the usual "torture the data until it says its normal" approach with transformations.   Does anyone have similar experience or better ideas?   (Note:  any use of capabilit...

  • Graph Builder Remove Variable

Hello,I am trying to use jsl to remove the x-axis variable and replace it with a different one.  It looks like I should use the GraphBuilderBox <- Remove Variable() tool, but since I change the x-axis variable multiple times, I do not know its name and would like to use the Remove Variable(Role("X"), Position(1)) method, but this does not work.  Any assistance would be appreciated.Thank you,Martin

  • How to calculate average (median) of a group of variables to get the eudlidean centre

How would I calculate the shape of the average (using the median) of a variable from a group within a data set? I need a certain function for calculating the centre of gravity (centroid) or Euclidian centre of this group of variable.
    Many thanks!!

  • LD50 and LT50 calculation

Hi everybody,I would want to calculate LD50 and LT50 from a dataset organized in 6 columns:- Name of the compound (I just got 1 compound named A)- Concentration of the compound (2 dilutions per compound)- Individual number (a fixed number of 10 individuals is used per assay)- State of the individual at the end of the experiment (1 = alive, 0 = dead)- Day death (experiment last 15 days)- Experiment...

  • How to add "All pair Tukey-Kramer" & mean diamond in graph builder box plots?

We can do as above simply using "Fit Y by X" with quantiles and compare means , however I can't find the way if I compile box plots using graph builder (especially when I need to compare more complicated box plots). Can anyone show some hints please? Thank you very much.
