  • What is JMP? What does JMP do for you?

Hi,I was wondering what your understanding of JMP is, or what JMP does for you or your company. We recently tweeted, "What is #JMP, you ask?"As JMP users, you probably get asked that question.I found a couple of cool links describing what JMP is.Dave@Pega-Analytics created this cool animated gif describing JMP.And this one from the web.  And this paper titled, "I'm a SAS Programmer.  Why should I...

  • Names Default to here(1); by default

Anyone have anything clever so when I open a new script that it automatically puts Names Default to here(1); as the first line?  I'd rather it be the actual new script than just a new window with a scriptbox().

Is there a way to have a reference line either disappear at a certain X or change at a specific X?  For instanceis it possible for green to go to blue at the purple line?

  • DOE: Significant model with significant lack-of-fit

    Hi all JMPers,
I'm facing an issue with a DOE and would like your opinion on that.
I'm trying to model two responses Y1,Y2 as a function of 2 factors X1,X2, their first order interaction and quadratic effects. To do so, I have the data from a full 2^3 factorial design plus two replicate experiments (non-centered) from a previous dataset.
I have no issue with Y1 but when it comes to Y2, its appears tha...

  • Selecting Multiple Rows and Imputing a Value in a Column

Hi,I have a data table where I created an empty column, and I wanted to input values into that column based on the rows selected. I have a list of search parameters, and I can select which rows I want based on the list I input, but I just want to put the value of the list into the empty column for all the selected rows. I have most of the script working, but I just can't get the last part which is...

  • How to get/read chart's y-axis max value?

For a given JMP chart (e.g. Variability chart, Box chart, etc) how to have JSL read in the chart's current y-axis maximum value?Usually this is contained within SendToReport within a Dispatch (so I know how to change it in JSL).  But I'd like to read in the latest value in the event the user manually changes it by dragging the y-axis up/down with their mouse.thanks, DJ

  • how to make jmp show the risk ratio automaticly for all the "fit proportional hazards"?

1- when analyzing a parameter and its influence on survival with cox-fit proportional hazards, I want it to show me the risk ratio automatically. is that possible?2- is there a way to check multiple parameters at the same time (since asking jmp to analyze a few parameters with the fit proportional hazards makes it multivariate analysis, and I don't want to do change the parameter manually to see i...

  • Changing a Picture Size

I have tens of pictures I want my users to be able to re-size easily.  I built a small function that does the trick but I feel there has to be a better way.  Below is an example of what I'm doing.  Since the pictures are always changing, I only know the reference to the picture box.  One of the issues with this strategy is that by re-sizing the picture several times it degrades the quality.I was w...

  • Co-Kriging with JMP and Matlab

Hi!I was wondering if anyone already tried to work with Co-Kriging, using JMP together with Matlab. As JMP only fits Ordinary Kriging Models (Gaussian Process with Gaussian Correlation Function), I would like to send data (generated with Space Filling JMP Platform) from JMP to Matlab, fit the models there (Matlab), and bring the MODELS back to JMP, to use inside Profile Platform. Do you have any e...

  • Interpreting canonical structure and scores in discriminant analysis

I'm trying to interpret the relative contributions of my variables in a discriminant function analysis of chemical data for three groups of rocks.  In a stepwise, linear, common covariance discriminant function analysis I'm able to generate non-overlapping 95% confidence ellipses for my three groups with no incorrectly assigned data points using 6 variables.  My understanding is that the scoring c...

  • Generalized Segmented Distributions

A former classmate of mine from Graduate School has recently published a paper on Generalized Segmented Distributions.  Utilizing this method, the distribution can approach any continuous density function of arbitrary form.  The method is particularly effective in fitting data with sufficient observations that are skewed and/or multimodal.  The paper can be found here:The General Segmented Distrib...
