  • JSL: Extract day of week from datetime field (scripting)

    Hi I have a field START_TIME (datetime format), e.g.15.06.2019 6:0516.06.2019 8:1217.06.2019 7:01 etc.I would like to keep all days that are Saturdays and Sundays. I imagine, by extracting I would receive a value likeSTART_TIME         SAT_SUN15.06.2019 6:05             716.06.2019 8:12             117.06.2019 7:01             2Then I just use keep 1s and 7s, right. How would I do that with JSL sc...

  • Question: Can JMP do a Full Outer Join without renaming the fields (scripting, info)

Hi,Recently I did a Full Outer Join (inluding nonmatches). Imagine my surpirse when i found that JMP renamed all fields during the join by adding the name of the source table. Can JMP do a Full Outer Join without renaming? If I could do that just using a nondocumented) option, just let me know. The JSL I used was something like, asuming "A" is already open:dt << Join ( with (data table("B")...

  • Predict with CI's from Passing-Bablok under Method Comparison add-in

Hi, I am using the Method Comparison Add-in by Russ Wolfinger to fit a Passing-Bablok regression. The add-in works great because it also adds CI's for the regression estimates. It also computes an additional orthogonal fit for comparison. Now I am trying to calculate the predicted value at a given X point, with Confidence Intervals using the PB fit. Is there a way to do this? Thanks! Dave

  • Using current date (TODAY() as macro variable entry for naming a dataset (scripting)

I would like to use TODAY() to derive the current date and use it as a timestamp in naming a  JMP dataset, and as a TIME_STAMP column as well. In SAS, it may look like this (I admit I neglected the formatting a bit).   %let TODAYDATE=today(); data WORK.CLASS_&TODAYDATE. ; set SASHELP.CLASS; TIME_STAMP = &TODAYDATE.  ; run ; After resolving, the result should look like this : "WORK.CLASS_20190628"...

  • JSL - Replacing Column Values with Vector

I'm attempting to script a function that replaces a range of column values with a vector of equal dimension. My code below either rejects the argument entirely or just changes the entire cell value to the vector, rather than spanning the range. I can imagine creating a "for loop" that would iterate through each row and and index the vector accordingly, but writing one value at a time seems ineffic...

  • Not a JMP question, but hoping someone can help - Estimating StdDev from Min, Max, Avg

Firstly, this is not a JMP question but a gereral statistics question, so I apologize if it's inappropriate to post it here.  But I'm hoping someone in the JMP community can help with it. I have a series of data samples, where each sample has Min, Avg (Mean), and Max recorded.  The data is sampled every second, but only recorded every 15 minutes.  So each of my 15-minute data points has the Min of...

  • Overlay graph changes scaling when I change Local Data Filter - How to stop this?

I make an Overlay plot and then manually change the y-axis scaling.  Then I change my Local Data Filter, and plot scaling changes - my manual settings are lost, and the plot re-autoscales.  How can I sto pit fro mdoing that?  I'd like th escaling to stay where I set it, even when I adjust the Local Data Filter.

  • plot secondary y-axis with conversion scale

JMP Pros,I have variable y1 consisting of integer scores from 1 to 9. I created a second conditional variable y2 as:  If(:y1 == 3, "4", :y1 == 5, "3", :y1 == 7, "2")  which converts the integer score values in y1 to corresponding values on a measured scale (millimeters). When I plot both variables in Graph Builder, the y2 axis is scaled independently of y1 whereas, what I want is ...

  • Help understanding how Lift curves are calculated

Dear JMPers,   (computer details: I have JMP Pro 14 on a W7 Enterprise, 64-bit computer.)   I am trying to better understand how JMP actually calculates a Lift curve. I understand conceptually the ROC and Lift curves, but I'm having a hard time calculating a Lift curve myself. The JMP help/support page (https://www.jmp.com/support/help/14-2/lift-curve.shtml#1276958) isn't all that helpful in under...

  • Selecting Number of Clusters in Hierarchical Clustering

One way to select possible number of clusters in hierarchical methods is to identify the relatively large changes in distance as number of clusters change (see table below). When I look at the actual distance measure from the table (clustering history below dendogram), there is a bigger jump from 3 clusters to 4 than from 4 to 5 (smaller), suggesting 4 may be the right decision. However, when you ...
