  • Forcing center points to be equally distributed across blocks custom design

Operationally, it may be desirable to ensure a run at control condition ("center point") within each block of a DOE. How can I specify this when using the Custom Design platform? Example (JMP Pro 17.2.0):DOE( Custom Design, {Add Response( Maximize, "Y", ., ., . ), Add Factor( Blocking, 4, "X1" ), Add Factor( Continuous, -1, 1, "X2", 0 ), Add Factor( Continuous, -1, 1, "X3", 0 ), Set Random See...

  • Old Limits removal

    Hi.
I'm updating spec limits in my jmp data table successfully. However, after updating the  limits, the old limit and the new limit shows up when I use graph builder.

I'm clicking the option show as a graph reference for the column as it is the default limits. I'm using the "Manage limits" option to update the limits. When I access the column, only the new limit is showing, but with graph builder...

  • doubts about PCA via functional data explorer

Hi all!I'm working with Principal Component Analysis of spectral (FTIR) data. For that, I'm using the Functional Data Explorer Platform. I have a few questions about the results loaded after analysis:1. What would be the criteria to identify which model is best? Diagnostic plots vs EigenvaluesBefore doing PCA, I'm fitting some models (B-spline, P-spline and direct functional PCA) to see which woul...

  • JMP is Not a Spreadsheet

It seems to me that a lot of requests appear in these discussions because users attempt to solve a problem or use JMP like a spreadsheet. The rows and columns in a JMP data table resemble a spreadsheet but this appearance is misleading. My intention here is to discuss ways of using JMP, interactively or scripted, that will be rewarding instead of frustrating. I hope that others will join this disc...

  • Offsetting Value labels in a bar graph

    Hello All,

I have a question regarding value label offsets which I have not been able to figure out. I have a script which generates a lot of bar graphs with 2 Y variables and then another Y variable below. All of the Y variables should have label values. However, I am putting a hard axis max on the Y axis of the top two variables so that in some cases the bar tops would be cut off. Thus the label ...

  • Data Visualization in Virtual Reality

Has anyone considered or have any interest in visualizing JMP plots (e.g., 3D scatter, surface) in virtual reality? I know there are several immersive VR programs (Arthur, Virtualitics, NVIDIA Omniverse) that can handle data and images generated from other program and I was wondering if anyone has made any attempts to do the same with JMP. Would love to hear back from anyone interested.

  • JMP 18 Addins on Server - Change in Location

FYI from JMP tech support:   If you are running JMP on a server, note that JMP 16 addins do not work for JMP 18 because the file paths have changed.  JMP is no longer part of SAS so the file path changed from C:\ProgramData\SAS\JMP\addIns to C:\ProgramData\JMP\JMP\addIns

Changing your file path to C:\ProgramData\JMP\JMP\addIns will make addins visible for JMP version 18.

  • How do I replace a prediction expression in a fit model with a specific expression?

Hi, I am completing a DOE and I have ran a fit model using the JMP software to define a design space based on desirability of certain variables, however one of the desirability variables is a simple ratio of two of the construct model effects, however when running the model, the model is defining its own prediction expression for this variable rather than using the formula in the data table. Does ...
