  • Control chart: Xbar and S chart with large subgroup size unable to extract or calculate limits

I am working on building Xbar and S chart to monitor a process where we observe the data (Y) every 1 minute across multiple runs. I wanted a chart where I have the control limits be the average of each time point across runs, which I believe the Xbar and S chart is doing. However, the actual LCL and UCL limits are not showing up, and I don't know how to extract them from the plot (see example char...

  • Graph builder removes levels of a variable when adding a local data filter (and I don't want it to)

I have some categorical data (a Likert scale) with 5 levels, with some responses at each level. When I add a local data filter, one of the levels no longer has any responses, and then this level doesn't show up on the graph anymore, but I want it to (with a bar of size 0). No filter: With filter (notice "Somewhat unhappy" [second level from top] is now missing): I have "Include Missing Categories"...

  • Graph Builder: adjust the axes to the filtered data

If a user applies a data filter to exclude rows, the Graph Builder Plot restricts the axes (and Group X/Y areas) accordingly.

                           ... but not always:
For columns with modeling type multiple response, Jmp (17.1) displays all existing values on the axis (and Group X/Y areas)
    - even if the data is restricted by a global data filter and a local data filter. Is there a setting to change...

  • How can I get background maps on shapefiles?

Greetings -  A total JMP newbie, but enjoying the ride so far! How can I get a background map to show up with a downloaded shape file?  I am able to get past the stage (I think!) of the .shp and .dfb files and saving them into the Maps folder of JMP as -XY.jmp and -Name.jmp files, but when I attempt to overlay the shape file boundaries on a background map I do not get a background map - only the b...

  • Copy paste histogram and nominal quantile plot

I used to be able to copy and paste histogram and CDF plot without any problem. But recently I started to see the pasted histogram changed dramatically. Could someone tell me what's wrong ? The operation I did was right click at the 2nd bottom histogram and choose "Edit" "Copy Frame Contents". Then move to the first histogram and right click and pick "Edit" "Paste Frame Content". As you can see, t...

  • Trouble with Spec Limits in JMP 18

I want to show my upper spec limits in my C-Chart. JMP 17 allowed me to do this, but spec limits are "greyed out" in JMP 18. Any way to work around this? Go back to JMP 17?

  • Ppk vs sample capability

I am comparing sample (or "short term") capability vs overall (or "long term") capability for several processes for my data set (cannot share), using JMP. I find that for some processes, the overall Ppk is smaller than the lowest sample capability. To give an example with reference to the picture below, for some processes, JMP gives me a Ppk smaller than 1.33 which is lowest capability for a sampl...

  • I would like to find another political scientist or other social scientist who has worked with mapping congressional districts and counties

There are great bodies of data presented by counties (disease incidence, education, income). There are other bodies of data presented by congressional districts (incumbents, vote percentages, etc.)  I want to find someone who has mapped the counties and the congressional districts into the same space.  I know this can be done with ESRI products, but  I wanted to avoid jumping off the JMP platform....

  • App Interface saved in a journal

    Hi There
Some time ago, I created a nice interface using Application Builder and I saved it as a journal. Now I need to make a few modifications to the interface, rearrange buttons, add boxes, and so on. I am unable to import the journal into the app and have the interface appear in the Module tab. It is a very busy interface ...Is there a way to have it?
    Thanks
