Tabulate With Weight
Hello,
I am using the tabulate function for my table, and I would like to use a weighted variable to calculate N. Any idea how to do this? Thank you4143 views | 2 replies -
Select records having frequency count greater than N
Hello fellow JMPers,
I have a dataset with a categorical variable X. I want to select rows where the frequency count of variable X is greater than a threshold. For example I only want to see rows where the count is 5 or higher. There could be 100-200 different values of X, so a simple distribution will be too busy to do a graphical selection from.
I've tried various things:
1. Tabulation where I p...pmroz

Are nested loops possible using JSL?
Is there a way to script a nested loop statement using JSL? I'm running into errors when I try. I am writing a script that transforms a dataset using indirect lognormal correction for change of support and I think I need a nested WHILE statement to make it work.
Although I realize the syntax is not entirely correct, the following illustration conveys what I am trying to do:
i=1;
j=1;
n=NRow() // wit...3862 views | 2 replies -
Control Charting with transactional recordset
Hello,
I'm trying to understand if JMP supports a control chart graph directly from transactional data without first having to create a summary table.
The JMP sample data table called Washers contains 15 records showing the count of defects per lot size of 400. Taking one step back there may have existed a data table of 6000 records (15x400) where each record contained the defect count of 1 or 0. W...khill

Attaching Data Table to Report
Hi Group,
As a new JMP user, I have a basic question: it seems that sometimes when I save a report (e.g., results of a linear model) JMP asks if I want to attach the data, but other times it doesn't. (I'm pretty sure I was saving a JRP file each time.)
Sometimes the JRP file is large and appears to include data, but other times it is just a script. Is there a reason for this?
Is it indeed possible...4605 views | 5 replies

Nemenyi test post-hoc for Kruskal-Wallis test
Is there a way to do post-hoc testing for the Kruskal-Wallis test for non-parametric data? I have searched the web and most use the Nemenyi test as described by Zar in Biostatistical analysis 3rd edition p226. I have a large amount of data and don't want to do all this by hand.

Random Parameters in Profiler?
I am evaluating JMP (currently V. 7, but my company is in the upgrade process) and I am particularly interested in figuring out how to use the Profiler for some of my frequent activities. Can anyone help with the following?
I would like to simulate a function F(x, theta(i)) over a range of x values. Theta(i) is a set of parameters drawn from a multivariate-normal distribution for each individual ...jff

Overlay normal quantile plots without long string labels
Hello,
I am a longtime user of JMP7. To make overlay normal quantile plots I use Fit Y by X, where Y is the continual variable like Height and X is a categorical variable like Gender. Using Right-click/Legend gives a nice color coded legend for the curves, but JMP also tries to label each curve way up at the top (upper quantile) end of the curve. Invariably these are ugly and overlap each other. ...karenb
