  • Different Time Formats in the same column

Hi, I have a column containing data of different timings. I would like to know how I can convert all the timings to the same format as they are of different formats. Race Timings51.98 (this is in seconds:milliseconds)52.0052.1901:55.8 (this is in minutes:seconds:milliseconds)02:15.3 When I try to format all to min:s with input format as min:s, all data with seconds:milliseconds gets removed.

  • creating new variables derived from multiple rows per ID

Hello , I am trying to create one variable (type2) from multiple rows per ID using variable type. I want to covert a table like this one:IDtype1A1A1B2A2A3B3B3B To:IDtype21C2A3B Where type2 is:  If type is always A then type2=A;If type is always B then type2=B;If type is a combination of A and B then type2=C; Thanks

  • Bubble Plots

Hello, I am making a bubble plot that compares data over time for 3 separate processes. 2 of the processes have data up to 12 months while the third only has up to 9 months. I wondering if there was a way for the bubble to stay around at the 9 month mark instead of disappearing completely once the time moves past. I have included a before and after image once the time reaches 9 months.
    Ideally, I ...

  • Metrics for Discriminant Analysis

I have a discriminant analysis that I'm using to classify some materials.  Works pretty well and I'm going to take it to production shortly.  Some items of course end up being "edge cases" where slight variations in them can move them from one classification to the next.   So for instance Sample A-1 (first sampling of stream A) ends up being classed as a Gamma object, where-as sample A-2 (second s...

  • Tolerance interval "censored data"/"over detection limit"

Hi I am running a test on the yield strength of some material, but due to some limitations in the measurement setup, I can not run the test until the specimens break. I.e. for example I can only run the test up to an applied force of 1kN. This means I can not find the actual yield strength and its distribution, I only know that I have a number of samples, N, that can take over 1kN of force. Is ther...

  • Power analysis for cluster randomized experiment

Hello, I'm wondering if there is a way to do sample size calculations (with power analysis) for cluster randomized experiments using JMP. We are planning a study where we would be comparing a classroom using one intervention versus another classroom using another intervention. We need to figure out how many classes (some using the first intervention some using the second intervention) are needed t...

  • How do I get Odds Ratios after fitting a GLM with binomial distribution and logit function?

Hi everyone,I need to get OR after fitting a GLM with binomial distribution and logit function - that is a logistic model. I cannot fit a "nominal logistic" where there's the option for OR because I need to use the Firth adjustment for small-sample bias (I can only do that for that GLM). Is there an option to get the Odds Ratios? Thank you in advance. Antony

  • Return number from specified row of calculation column in either a text edit box or number edit box in an add in

Hello,  I'm attempting to build an application in application builder. I have two modules currently. The first module is a series of number edit boxes and lists that allow the user to input values and make selections. After pushing a button, the inputs and/or list selections update table variables in a data table that subsequently updates column equations. The data table opens in the background so ...

  • Comparing observed/predicted from different models. (Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD) or Mean Absolute Error (MAE))?

I'm using the neural platform to calculate a model that makes predictions from some observed data and want to compare the performance of that model to other models (not from JMP). To compare the different models, I want to compare the observed data and the predictions from the different models. The R2 is not a good measure because it checks for any linear relationship between the observed and predi...

  • Problem specifying model for a partly nested ANOVA design

My study design is mixed-model with one fixed between-plot fixed factor (A), a random plot factor (B), nested in A (B[A]), and two crossed within-plot fixed factors (C and D).  I'm able to enter a full factorial model that includes the 3 fixed factors and all their interactions, using either the Least Squares or Mixed-Model Personality.  I'm also able to add the random factor (B[A]), but things go...
