  • Tweak a model before running fit model, list box not respecting special column names

    I’m looking to build a copy of this model effects dialog from fit model: Goal is to build a script that will read in this effects expression from the model script that DOE saves in the table, allow people to tweak the effect expression and then run some analysis using fit model with the new effects expression.If you run the dialog in below script, you will see that it reads in the effects expressi...

  • Using loop variable as column input

    Hello,   I am wondering if it possible to use my for loop variable, i, as an input for a new column, depending on the value of another column.  Here is what I am thinking, but cannot get to work. dt << New Column("Site", Numeric, Formula(    For(i = 1, i <= 8, i++,       If(Contains(:Column1, i), i);    ) ));

  • How to color code by sample type in a PCA?

    I am novice at JMP, and I am making my first PCA that I would like to color code by sample type (treatment) ... but I cannot figure out how. Any advice?My study compares a variety (15+) of carbon composition metrics of the leaves, litter, and soil of two different plant species in rivers versus creeks -- overall that is 12 sample types, or treatments.Any help would be greatly appreciated!I have JM...

  • Incorrect output for cross-correlation in time series platform?

    Hi JMP Community,(W10, 64-bit, JMP Pro 15.2.1)   I'm hoping to find out either what I'm doing wrong, or what I misunderstand about how JMP performs the cross-correlation calculations in the Time Series platform. In short, when I compare the cross correlation of a Sin(x) with a Cos(x) function, I don't get an answer of pi/2 (or 90-degree) as I would expect, I get 79-degrees instead.   I am trying t...

  • Value label not preserved in journal

    I have a script that uses the bivariate platform to produce a plot of data over discrete time units (e.g. 202101 for 1st week of 2021). The time units used are not negotiable and do not space correctly if treated as continuous: the distance between 202052 and 202101 will not be the same as the distance between 202101 and 202102, but these distances should be the same as they are consecutive weeks....

  • Error in estimating interactions using Fit Model:Contrasts

    I teach stats in my graduate psychology program, and my approach is to use orthogonal contrasts to analyze ANOVA designs. (See this book among others.) The "LSMeans Contrasts" option in the right-most section of the output is a fantastic way to analyze the data this way without actually having to built contrast codes in JMP columns. I start with the main effect contrasts and then figure out how to...
