  • Measurement plan (DoE) where factors can be present or absent. Interactions and concentrations are of interest.

Hi everyone,I am struggeling with setting up a measurement plan for the following situation. Maybe someone has had a similar situation and could give me some input on that:  Factor 1 can be chosen from 3 candidates. In addition, its optimal concentration is of interest.
Factor 2 can be present or absent. If it is present, its optimal concentration is of interest.
Factor 3 can be present or absent. I...

  • Get MaxPro value for any Space-Filling design

Hi dear JMP Users and expert scripters,   I would like to compare several DoEs (Space-Filling type). Some are generated with JMP (with all the column properties needed for the factors and response), some are created with other external tools (so no column properties after file importation in JMP).   Since these designs are Space-Filling types, I would like to compare them based on discrepancy and ...

  • How to build a prediction model of multi-step process: some runs don't have all the steps

Hello,  I am hoping to get some advice in modelling based on the historical data. For the process the model is based on, it has 3 steps dep1->dep2->etch3, for each step there are 3 continuous factors. So in total, I have 3*3 factors, 9 factors. However, for some historical runs, there is no step 3etch but 1 and 2. Could I take the "3 steps run" and "2 steps run" as one table and build model out of...

  • Mixture DOE

Hello,Maybe an easy question!I have 6 mixture components. I am interested in finding the effect of two of them on the response. There is also process variables, "time" and "temperature". Not sure how to set up this experiment.

  • Overlay profiler from two different models

Is is possible to overlay in the profiler two different models? I ran a DOE in a simulation software and created a model for it. I then ran the same DOE in an actual experiment also and have a model from that experiment. So both models have same factors and factor names, and responses and response names. I want to now see a profiler from both simulation and actual experiment in the same profiler n...

  • Determining number of samples per run in fractional factorial design

Hello everybody,In one experiment we are going to measure 3d printed samples to improve prints quality (geometry). Additionally, I have value of standard deviation of sample run (10 samples distributed over printing bed, and printed under typical operation condition) to be 0.006mm and this should be standard deviation of measured geometry distorion. We want to minimize geometry distortion. We thou...

  • Creating DOE (and fitting) for non-linear response

Hello, I am still new to JMP but I'm trying to determine the best way to model a non-linear system (generating DOE + model fitting). Context: Long story short, I have a large experimental space that I am trying to model (10 discrete variables + 10 continuous variables). Before I jump into my full experiment I'm working with a subset (1 discrete variable + 5 continuous variables) to make sure I'm m...

  • Robust vs. Non Robust Response Screening/ Categorical Outliers

Hello! I appreciate your help in advance!  I am currently trying to figure out the proper way to analyze my data!  I had used the DOE feature of JMP to create this fraction factorial of 24 runs for m experiment. The goal is two screen which categories have the most effect on the success rate. I had initially use the response screening option to analyze my results, when I did that none of my values...

  • Process development with multiple factors

Hi everyone, I'm currently engaged in a process development project with the goal of 1) minimizing the total process time while 2) maintaining or enhancing the yield. This objective is similar to viral vector production case, where maximizing virus yield in the shortest production time is crucial. After consulting with subject matter experts, we've pinpointed 10 factors for potential modification....

  • Do 3rd order effects help define curvature?

If you have are making a design with a factor you are certain will have a quadratic relationship against a response but you have a wide range, can it be helpful to define a 3rd order model effect for that factor to better identify and model curvature. I work in purification and we often deal with a recovery vs. purity balance. This relationship is usually quadratic around the optimal, where at a l...
