  • How do I create normal bars on my bar graph?

Hi,   I am trying to make normal bars on my graph instead of dashes but I don't know where to adjust the setting. See picture attached. I have JMP version 17.

  • split plot using custom design -- modeling terms confusion

Hi. I'm using JMP Pro 15.2.1.I'm doing a split plot design where X1 is my very hard to change factor with 3 levels (whole plots) and X2 is a hard to change factor with 3 levels (subplots). Only two of the three levels of X2 can be done in each whole plot, so I designated 3 whole plots and 6 subplots to achieve that effect, where the hard to change factor can NOT change independently of the very ha...

  • Space filling versus optimal DOE

For mixtures frequently space filling DOE's are used; guess these are not optimal? So what is then the benefit? Why not use space filling also for non-mixtures instead of Optimal DOE? I am preparing a DOE course and expect these questions and so far I don't have the right answers.

  • Why Press and Scaled Estimates in Linear Mixed Model (REML) are missing?

@Mark_Bailey Do you know how to get press and scaled estimated for REML models with random blocks? Is it possible to use JMP JSL to calculate those values? Thank you so much.

  • Two blocking variables for DSD to integrate replicates and multiple sampling points?

Hello, I'm setting up an experiment where I measure changes in cell numbers in response to the concentration of 8 different cell culture media ingredients (i.e. continuous factors). A DSD with 8 extra runs gives me a 29 run experiment for this. Since the main time sink of this experiment is making up the different media mixes, I'm planning to run 3 exact replicates, preferrably blocked since the r...

  • How to get RMSE of the Power analysis for DOE

Hello! I think this question was asked several times before. But I am still confused about how to get the RMSE for the power analysis for DOE with multiple factors. Say I have 7 factors and 10 responses, do I have to first conduct 10 different pilot studies for each response to construct a fitting model, and then get the RMSE (that will be a lot of work!)? How to set up the pilot study? Can someon...

  • How to find all combinations of a variable?

Hi! I need to be able to find combinations of a variable that equals a certain number. For example, I have a list of 5 solvents all with different solubility parameters. I need to be able to identify what combination of solvents would equal a solubility parameter of approximately 10 (Ex. 30% solvent A + 70% solvent B = solubility parameter of 10.05).  Any ideas om how to achieve this?

  • DoE with two-choice experiments, continuous response variable

We want to rank the preference  of population of animals for n different recipes. Recipes are tested in two-choice assays, where groups of over 100 individuals can choose one choice or the other. Preference for the group is computed as a preference index, a continuous variable that is between -1 and 1. Is there an experimental design that would help reduce the number of combinations to test in ord...
