  • Overlaying multiple curve fits into one plot

Hi All,I am looking for some help with data visualization. I have a dataset comprised of a temperature measurement and a voltage measurement for about 200 devices. For each device, a voltage was measured at 7 different temperatures. The voltage profile across temperature is non-linear. What I'm looking to do is fit a curve to the voltage across temperature for each device and overlay all these cur...

  • Quick way to filter data table

I'm not sure why, but there is no Outer Joins in JMP that I can find.  These are helpful if you want to filter one data table by another data table.  Because of this, all I've come up with is the below script but it's very slow in large data tables (1 million+ rows).  Any suggestions to improve the script would be helpful.dt << Clear Select;for(i=1, i <= nitems(filter_list), i++,  dt << Select Whe...

  • Co-Kriging with JMP and Matlab

Hi!I was wondering if anyone already tried to work with Co-Kriging, using JMP together with Matlab. As JMP only fits Ordinary Kriging Models (Gaussian Process with Gaussian Correlation Function), I would like to send data (generated with Space Filling JMP Platform) from JMP to Matlab, fit the models there (Matlab), and bring the MODELS back to JMP, to use inside Profile Platform. Do you have any e...

  • File Exists () - can this work with HTML path?

Are there any tricks to get File Exists() to work with an internal html path (internal meaning a network drive represented as an html path and not UNC path)? So far I cannot get it to recognize a file path that exists using the html path representation like below.  Are there any tricks to make this work or some other file check related command perhaps?  DJfile exists("p:\\mypath\test.jsl"); //UNC ...

  • Has anybody used the hierarchical clustering function in JMP for all ordinal data and tried how well the non-Ward options work?

So I am trying to build clusters in JMP with the cluster analysis but since my data is all categorical,I was wondering if some of the other options would work better. There is blessfully little in the JMP manual on which drop down to use and the internet was not particularly helpful other than suggesting that for all categorical data different algorithms should be used. Any suggestions would be gr...

  • Absolute value of fit model

I've run an experiment and am doing a fit model. I am only concerned with the absolute magnitude of the response, but to get a good linear fit I have to include the sign of the response. My question is if it's possible to run the fit model with the sign, but then have jmp display the absolute value in all the charts (interaction profiles, prediction profiler, etc.). That way it would be easier to s...

  • Interpreting canonical structure and scores in discriminant analysis

I'm trying to interpret the relative contributions of my variables in a discriminant function analysis of chemical data for three groups of rocks.  In a stepwise, linear, common covariance discriminant function analysis I'm able to generate non-overlapping 95% confidence ellipses for my three groups with no incorrectly assigned data points using 6 variables.  My understanding is that the scoring c...

  • Generalized Segmented Distributions

A former classmate of mine from Graduate School has recently published a paper on Generalized Segmented Distributions.  Utilizing this method, the distribution can approach any continuous density function of arbitrary form.  The method is particularly effective in fitting data with sufficient observations that are skewed and/or multimodal.  The paper can be found here:The General Segmented Distrib...
