  • Why do intercept coefficients in generalized linear models depend on the design matrix

I've thought a lot about the intercept terms in glm.  Logistic regression in particular.  In standard linear regression we can estimate the intercept term without any knowledge of the design matrix.  It's just the mean of the responses.  I figured that principle would stay the same in other models.  The principle is Once you know the responses and the link function, then you can determine the inte...

  • How to open private data tables in loop

    All,
I have a reasonably simple problem. It is my understanding that when you open the data table as private, you would lose the table when you don't retain the reference of the data table name. So, how do you retain the data tables especially when you are opening them as a part of a loop. For e.g.:  FilePath = "C:\Test.xlsx"; SheetsList = Get Excel Worksheets(FilePath); OpenDts = {}; fo...

  • Evaluating Dif Function by Column

I'm trying to evaluate the difference between two rows using the "Dif" function; however, the evaluation is continuous and has no regard for other columns. For example, with the "Big Class" DT I run the script below, but it will still compute the weight difference between a male and female. Is there any way around this? dt = Current Data Table(); dt << Sort( By( :age, :sex ), Order( Ascending, As...

  • LSMeans Tests between Student's t vs. Tukey HSD

Has anyone seen this result where Student's t letters are the same while Tukey HSD letters are different. I usually see visa versa. Any thought?

  • Restricting Col List Box entries

I have a problem with Col List Box. I'd like to restrict the list of columns available to be selected.I've already restricted it to Numeric and Continuous, but in my application that leaves a very long list. For that matter, if there is another way that's easier (Column Dialog?), that would be fine too. The documentation seems limited on this. For instance, it shows that a script can be added to th...

  • Help me make sense of the significance in Chi-Square Analyses results

Hey all,Here I have run the presense of a car passenger (1 = front seat, 2=back seat) against casualty severity (1 = fatal, 2 = serious, 3 = slight). I am having trouble understand the results. I understand that the expected count and the actual count is what I'm interested in, but how do I detect whether the difference between those two counts is significant. Thanks in advance!

  • Viewing "Weighted N"

Hello,First of all, I should say that I am an Engineer with a very basic knowledge in statistics (perhaps thats why I am using JMP :) I have a data table with 90,000 rows and 12 columns. One of the columns has a pre-selected role as "Weight". The dataset I have has been sampled from a series of events with each event having its own "Weight". In our literature, it is common to publish Tables with "...

  • DOE - ELISA method - 4 PL modeling

Dear JMP Community, My question is about a DOE performed on ELISA method. The response is the Absorbance and there are 3 factors which are dilution of different reagents (standard, parameter B and parameter C) - Refer to graph attached to visualize the type of data I have.I’m looking for optimizing the three factors to get a plateau equal to 2 for absorbance. But I would like also to be at “the beg...

  • Non-parametric Mixed Model

Hi everyone,  New to the forum.  I've been using JMP for a while now and I have encountered my first problem.  Maybe it's not a problem to any of you, but I don't know how to run a non-parametric test on a mixed model.  My understanding through the fit model platform is that this is a parametric method.  However, there is no way to transform my data.  I have a response, y, a fixed factor, and a ra...

  • I want to use LASSO and Group LASSO in JMP

I'm involved in a project where we are applying lasso to build a logistic regression model from a "black box" set of predictors.  I need to get JMP Pro before trying out JMP's implementation.  I'm doing all the analysis in R at present.  Does JMP Pro also include group lasso?  I've found through using JMP Cluster Variables (CLUSVAR) that I can naturally group my predictors prior to group lasso.  F...

  • Mean separation letter from test slices

    Hello!

How do I get the mean separation letter in for each level of a factor when interaction is significant? For example, if I have A*B interaction and I want to get the mean separation of B at each level of A, how do I get the LSD letters in JMP? I can do test slices and that will use the DF of the full analysis, but this does not shows which mean of B differs. If I do multiple comparison: How ca...

  • repeated-measures ANCOVA: How to perform the analysis when the parallel slope assumpt. doesn't meet?

Hi all,I need to perform the ANCOVA for a repeated-measures design. I tried to adapt the Julian's ANCOVA procedure showed on the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mApbp1RDy-U to my study case (repeated-measures design). Initially, I did the following actions: 1. In the Fit Y by X dialogue: I selected VAR_Y as "Y, Response" and VAR_X as "X, Factor";2. For "Group by" I selected the variable Timepoint;...
