  • Small design with many parameters

    Hi,   I am reading this paper: Full article: A high-throughput media design approach for high performance mammalian fed-batch cultures where authors mention that they constructed DoE with 16 runs using 43 parameters. If I understood correctly, they basically designed 80 random DoEs, choosing the one that best minimizes the correlations between factors. I was wondering if something similar can be d...

  • Files In Directory

    With JMP 17, the Files in Directory script command appears not to work if there are leading numbers, or numbers in the file name.  The Watch window returns various errors unless all file names are number free.   <jsl> folderPath = "C:\Users\first.last\documents"; <jsl> fd = Files In Directory( folderPath,1,1 );
    <jsl> w = Watch ( fd );   Is this fixed in a different release?  Suggestions?

  • Help with statistical analysis of repeated measurements

    Let's say that I have to compare two equipments and check if they measure the same. I know that I have some measurment error/uncertainty so I decide to measure the same sample several times at each equipment. The data collection looks like the table Statistical analysis data collection (see attachment). My idea was to take an average for each sample, and then perform a matched-pairs analysis (see ...

  • How to subset columns by point & click via Columns Manager?

    Since Columns Viewer will be removed in JMP 19 and I found the subset functionality very useful, I am wondering whether JMP 19 will permit the same via Columns Manager. For now, subsetting of columns is; I think; the only reason why I'm using the Columns Viewer. In JMP 18, however, I get a big fat warning to use the Columns Manager.  Alright, I get it but I can't see that the columns manager has ...

  • Make IMF function more efficient.

    I have thousands of file like the attached example (.CSV). Time information is in raw 102 and my measurement data start at raw 242.   Currently I am doing Importing file 2 times, one for Time information and one for test data. After that I use update function to import time information to test data table.    This logic was working with small set of files but it is not efficient on large number of ...

  • How can I arrange the unique values obtained from a column in the order they appear in the original column?

    When looking for unique values in a column, `summarize()` is often used. However, the values outputted by `summarize()` are sorted, and the output in following JSL would look like this: {"64", "67", "74",..., "172"}. I would like the output to be arranged in the order they appear in the column, for example: {"95", "123", "74",...}. What modification should I make to achieve this result?   Names D...

  • Testing slices in JMP Pro Mixed Model?

    Hello, I am doing a 4-way, full factorial ANOVA with one repeated measures factor (time, 3 samplings) and three between-subject factors (species, color, and irrigation; 2 levels of each) using the Mixed Model personality in JMP Pro 18.1.0. I'm using the AR(1) repeated covariance structure, as it provides the best fit based on AICc values. The analysis indicates I have no significant 4- or 3-way in...

  • when does model reduction lead to the problem of multiple comparisons?

    My interest is in identifying the strongest predictors of annual per capita growth rate for three groups of bird species: residents, short-distance migrants and long-distance migrants.  My model has per capita growth rate as the dependent variable, and as predictors bird density during the breeding season, and 13 environmental predictors (various measures of climate, food abundance and nest predat...

  • Discovery summit book signings - official list of books?

    Fellow JMP enthusiasts! During the 2024 Manchester Discovery Summit I was surprised to learn that the handing out and signing of books is a tradition. So, I am wondering whether there is a list of the books handed out & signed so far. If it exists, where to find it?I thoroughly enjoyed reading "Bitch" by Lucy Cooke, and I have a feeling "Hello World" by Hannah Frey will be a good read too.
