  • Mail() function causes outlook to display warning

I want to create an automated jmp script which runs and sends out reports. When it gets to the Mail function Outlook pops up with "A Program is trying to access e-mail address information stored in Outlook" Allow / Deny. VB and a number of other languages have a way to disable that message. Is there a way to bypass this message in JMP as it defeats the purpose of automating the emails.

    Thanks

  • JSL: Creating formula using a variable column name

    Hi,

I want to do an actually simple thing (at least I thought so), namely to create a new column using JSL with a formula that contains a variable column name. I already tried several combinations of the commands "column, as column, name, as name, eval, parse .." and I searched the forum, but everything I tried results in an error that the formula could not be evaluated.

An example what I want to do...

  • Multiple means comparision for non-parametric data?

I am analyzing some data that is so strongly left-skewed that it has to be analyzed nonparametrically. Although my preferred question would be to see whether three wasp species differ in their preferences among three baits (a factorial design would work great if the data could be normalized), I think I’d settle for the Kruskal-Wallis analysis for each species separately IF I could then do the mult...

  • Within-subjects and between-subjects variance

    Hi!

I'm looking for a way to distinguish the within-subjects variance from the between-subjects variance!
My data table looks like this:

    Person 1 Value1 1
    Person 1 Value2 2
    Person 2 Value1 1
    Person 2 Value2 2
    Person 2 Value3 3
    Person 2 Value4 4
    Person 3 Value1 1
    Person 3 Value2 2
    Person 3 Value3 3
    Person 4 Value1 1
    Person 5 Value1 1
    Person 5 Value2 2

What I tried was a "MANOVA" from the "Fit model" menu with "Va...

  • Calculating average of zonal data in contour map

    Hi Guys,

I have this contour map which is divided into several square zones (4x4). I wanted to calculate the average of all the data points in all the zones (e.g. say Average of Z1 = , Average of Z2 = , )on the contour map. The number of points in a zone varies at the edge of the circular countor map.
Is there an easier way of doing this other than manually selecting data points from each zone, lab...

  • Looking for advice on LD50/ED50 calculation with JMP

    Hi JMP users,
I've tried to figure this out but the statistics guide is vague enough that I can't quite get to the answer that I need to make this work.

I'm trying to get JMP to work for computing LD50 values based on observed mortality proportions.

The documentation and routines in JMP seems to rely on a logistic regression and imply that inverse prediction at 0.5 will yield an LD50. The problem is...

  • Finding minimum value within each repeating sequence of column values

What formula will find a minimum value within each repeating sequence of column values?

I have a large database in which I wish to report the minimum (maximum) value within each 7-member, repeating sequence in a column of real values.

    Thanks for any help.

  • Random Parameters in Profiler?

I am evaluating JMP (currently V. 7, but my company is in the upgrade process) and I am particularly interested in figuring out how to use the Profiler for some of my frequent activities. Can anyone help with the following?

I would like to simulate a function F(x, theta(i)) over a range of x values. Theta(i) is a set of parameters drawn from a multivariate-normal distribution for each individual ...

  • Overlay normal quantile plots without long string labels

    Hello,

I am a longtime user of JMP7. To make overlay normal quantile plots I use Fit Y by X, where Y is the continual variable like Height and X is a categorical variable like Gender. Using Right-click/Legend gives a nice color coded legend for the curves, but JMP also tries to label each curve way up at the top (upper quantile) end of the curve. Invariably these are ugly and overlap each other. ...
