I tried this script User_Input = New Window( "N Col", << modal(), hlistbox( Text Box( "Enter Column No: " ), Col_Num_teb = Text Edit Box( "", <<set width( 200 ) ), ), Button Box( "OK", col_num = col_num_teb << get(); ), ); lb = LineUpBox( N Col(col_num) );I tried entering 4 but ends up havi...

  • How do you remove this random line from a graph?

     When I am in graph builder working on a line graph, sometimes a random black line appears and I am not sure where it is coming from or what it's for. How do I get rid of it?

  • Formula for trimmed mean

    I have a data set that has a sample number in the first column, and then 180 columns of various measurements of the sample. I want to get the 5% trimmed mean for each of 100 samples in the table.Because of the large number of samples, going through Distributions > Summary Statistics is very impractical. Is there a way I can pull this directly using a formula? Alternatively, I could stack my column...

  • Force Excel Import Wizard to Use Character for All Columns?

    I am trying to import several one sheet from several auto-generated Excel tables and then concatenate into a larger file.  The problem is that the first row contains the 'blank' data which has no batch/lot/etc. info, and the Excel cells have 'general' as the format.  The next three columns are empty for the 'blank' but full for all other rows (samples).  The first (batch) always imports correctly ...

  • Bootstrapping in JMP 15

    In JMP 14, you could right click on the values in the output to obtain bootstrap confidence intervals.   However, in JMP 15, this no longer appears to be an option.   Does anyone know if JMP removed the bootstrap option completely or if they moved it to some other location?

  • Can't scroll or select columns in Analyze->Distribution panel

    Hello, I'm a new JMP Pro 16.2 user. I recently purchased a new computer to be able to use the program for my Stats class and when I try to analyze a distribution using either the aforementioned method or through Matched Pairs modeling, the scroll window freezes and I can't select anything. As stated, I'll be needing to use this computer for my final in a few weeks and so far I cannot use any of th...

  • JMP > GraphBuilder > Parallel Plots >River / Sankey Plots > Maximum Items?

    Hi JMP Community,   I just came across an odd behavior in GraphBuilder with the Parallel Plot > Sankey Plot. If I limit the input to a maximum of 66 rows, the plot looks good. However, if I bump the number of rows to 67 or more,the output is no longer useful: no annotations: Is there a trick to maintain the axis annotations as shown in the first plot? Thanks. Best, TS

  • Permutation Tests and Monte Carlo Cross Validations Using the Simulation Platform

    I'm trying to do permutation tests and Monte Carlo Cross Validations with the Iris sample dataset as a MWE for our dataset. I'm not sure if I'm doing things and interpreting output correctly.   1) Create New Formula Column (Random->Sample Without Replacement) for the Species Column for Permutation Test. 2) Create a Validation Column (0.75/0.25 split) and a new Formula Column (Random->Sample Withou...

  • Variability Chart Platform Factor Re-Insert Positions (Not Swapping)

    Hello JMP Community, I understand dragging between any two factors swaps the location pairs in the Variability Chart platform. Is there a way to drag to specifically re-insert the factors instead? For example, can I drag "Layout" between "Horizontal" and "Wafer ID" in the attached screenshot instead of performing multiple drags to have the intended result? I am aware I can do this reordering with ...

  • Get (x & y) intercept values from linear fit of the linear region of a curve/data and store them in a new column

    I have JMP data table with data from several parts for which a Capacitance 'C' has been measured as a function of reverse voltage 'V' (0 to -5 V in -0.1V step). A plot of [1/C]^2 vs V has a linear part for small reverse bias (say from 0 V to -0.5V and data is available at 0, -0.1, -0.2, -03, -0.4 -0.5 V within this range). How to do a linear fit to the points between 0 to -5V for each part, extrac...
