  • How do I automate random sampling generation from different distribution types?

Let's say I have a table with 5 rows & 2 columns. The first column is for distribution types (e.g. Normal, Lognormal, Weibull, etc) and the second column is for the respective parameters. I'd like to make a for loop which will create a new data table for each of the 5 rows, where in that new data table, a new column will be added with a random sampling function based on the parameters of the row. ...

  • 2 constraints in custom DOE where the sum of two factors should be below 8 or greater than 18 hours

Hi,I would like to run a custom DOE with 5 factors. 2 factors are related to time and due to work hours I have to ensure that the sum of those two factors either are below 8 hours OR greater than 18 hours. The first factor has 0.3 h as low level and 6 h as high whereas the second has 1 h and 20 h. The script below does not work, perhaps because there is an AND hidden...? thanks in advanceDOE( Cus...

  • list box widget not working as expected.

Here is a simple snippet which pops up a list box and when an item is selected it should simply return the item to the log window. In reality I have a function which will do something with the returned item.  However, in JMP 15 it always return the item twice which is odd behavior. Maybe this is an unintended use case and I need to use this widget another way.  myListBox = listBox({"A", "B", "C"},...

  • Using DOE optimizing a distillation process

Hi Community,I have been asked whether DOE can be used to optimize a distillation process where the feed composition varies from tank to tank. Factors could be Feed Rate, Reflux, Temperature but they are adjusted according to the feed composition and therefore not independent. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

  • Guidance on appropriate analyses

I am trying to relearn JMP and the appropriate stats to use. I would really appreciate help trying to determine which analyses are most appropriate given the dataset. I have a dataset of whale sightings collected from aerial and vessel surveys with 3 different environmental covariates [distance from shore (km), depth (m), and Sea Surface Temperature (SST degrees C)]. I have attached the summary st...

  • Ho to make the script continue running after encountering a non-present column?

Hi everyoneI have a data table with a lot of columns. in my script I name some of them and make a new table to plot the graphs.the data get updated every day for last 90 days. sometimes in happens that one of the column does not present in the data table in the updated data since it was not running on the tool for a while. the script stops when encounters to naming that non-present column. How I c...

  • Equivalence between two manufacturing lines

Hi all, I am attempting to display a TOST or equivalence between two distributions of the same output, but on different manufacturing lines. I understand you can get to this by the Fit Y by X, but a little confused as there is no Response/Factor situation, but rather a distribution of output Y1 on the donor process, and a distribution of output Y2 on the recipient process. Is there a simple way to...

  • Comparing observed/predicted from different models. (Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD) or Mean Absolute Error (MAE))?

I'm using the neural platform to calculate a model that makes predictions from some observed data and want to compare the performance of that model to other models (not from JMP). To compare the different models, I want to compare the observed data and the predictions from the different models. The R2 is not a good measure because it checks for any linear relationship between the observed and predi...

  • Problem specifying model for a partly nested ANOVA design

My study design is mixed-model with one fixed between-plot fixed factor (A), a random plot factor (B), nested in A (B[A]), and two crossed within-plot fixed factors (C and D).  I'm able to enter a full factorial model that includes the 3 fixed factors and all their interactions, using either the Least Squares or Mixed-Model Personality.  I'm also able to add the random factor (B[A]), but things go...
