  • How to create a design that combines finding the best combination of substances together with finding their best concentration?

Dear JMP team,I am planning an experiment, where I have two categories of molecules (categoryA and categoryB). Both have two possible molecule candidates each: categoryA = {molA1, molA2} and categoryB = {molB1, molB2}. I would also like to model the concentration of each molecule as independent factor.  I was first thinking to add two continuous factors like ConcentrationCategoryA and Concentratio...

  • Prediction variance value meaning

I made a custom design with 18 runs. I made a design evaluation and it gave me a prediction variance of 0.58 and a maximum prediction variance of 1.94. What does with values means or indicate. Is it the perecentage of variance? Can someone explain it in simple words.

  • Analysis of a Mixture DOE with stepwise regression

In Mixture case studies (webcast & JMP documentation library) I notice that backward regression is used to analyse the results. Why is stepwise regression not used with forward regression or all possible models in regualr (non Pro) JMP? Is stepwise not possble because of the special nature of mixture models?

  • How to add more response variables?

I made a custom design with a set of response variables. Then I ran the experiments. But now i want to add some extra responses which are relevant for the DOE. Is it possible? if yes how to do it?

  • DOE - Advice on Definitive Screening Design vs. half or full factorial design

JMP Community I was hoping you could help.    I have some questions from a DoE practitioner whose main experience so far has been half or full factorial designs but is interested in using a Definitive Screening Design for a study of 4 or 5 factors. These questions are:   What are the advantages and limitations of the classical two-level factorial design when compared to a DSD?Can a definitive scre...

  • Changing Standard Deviation with Weights in "Distribution" Platform

This general topic has been discussed before here but I am unsatisfied. The JMP expert posted a formula that perhaps explains what's going on. But I have a conceptual question. I would think that weighting is useful to adjust estimates if one wants to weight, say, some subsamples more than others. Like if one had 100 men and 1,000 women, and one wanted to estimate the mean and SD of a sample that ...

  • JMP - prediction profiler

hello guys, in the prediction profiler, for example in the flow where you can adjust it. is there a way in a kategorical variable to include them?as you can see in the category coal, is there a way to find the interval to reliance by selecting all of the coal variables? so i dont only find the answer when i am looking at coal but also natural gas and oil?

  • Could JMP optimize factors with uncertainty?

Hello community!!,A question: will it be possible for the profiler to find the best combinations of factors with uncertainty when performing a simulation, which maximize the total utility and minimize the total cost, generating a table of the best combinations found? For example:

  • Caution: Places where Jmp does something unexpected

Definitely, JMP is Not a Spreadsheet . And that's great!! Besides this difference, there are other places where Jmp doesn't do/behave/produce what a newbie / innocent Jmp user expects.
If a user knows these issues and the remedies and workarounds -  he/she can
    a) save a lot of time b) be safe from data loss c) be sure that the results are as expected.

  • Getting NonEstimable values when crossing variables due to control setup

Hi,   I'm working on a dataset where we are testing the effects of 2 treatments and the delay between them, and I'm trying to figure out how to line up my variables so I can do a Dunnett's test against various controls. We are giving animals a dose of drug A (Variable A), waiting some time (T), and then giving them a dose of drug B . If the animal is NOT given drug A (= 0), then T doesn't have a m...

  • How to adjust the factor range for specific factors within an ongoing DOE

Hi, I designed a DOE that has two independent buffers. This DOE will range components in each buffer which will be used in a processing step sequentially. IE, buffer A, followed by buffer B. We already prepared for the DOE, and formulated the A buffers as per the recommended design. For the B buffers, we intended on ranging 2 components but later decided to reduce to ranging one component, and als...

  • Discrete Choice Experiment: Prohibited Combination

Hi everyone,I would like to design my first DCE. I am going to use 6 attributes that differ in the levels from 2 to 4 levels. However, I have a limitation where there is an impossible combination that may appear; for example, the cheapest product would not be possible to have the best feature. Is there any way for me to select the prohibited combination? Or, is the D-optimal design will always cal...
