  • Mixture DOE Constraints

I am a new user for JMP, I am trying to create a design of experiment for a mixture. I have four factors in my experiment : resin, plasticizer, Modifier A, Modifier B. I do not want Modifier A to be in the same batch with Modifier B. I want Modifier A or Modifier B not both. How do I create a constraint to disallow these two ingredients to be together in the same run?

  • How DoE model evaluation impact final model after experiment?

Hi Folks, I have several questions about DoE, could you please answer them? Thank you so much. 1) Due to experiment constraint, can I manually adjust center point value for example (-1)= 10, (+1)= 12, (0) = 11. But (0) = 11 is not a good center point, can I change to 10.5 in the design? How this change will impact the data analysis and final model as well as model prediction? what if I used (0)= 1...

  • DSD for 4 continuous factors

I have four continuous factors. I want to optimized the process that's why I clicked add blocks  with center runs to estimate quadratic effects. I click the script "Evaluate of Design" after making the table. I clicked RSM. The values of 2FI and Quadratic in Power Analysis are small. I also noticed that there is no quadratic term for my 4th factor.

  • Default Signal to Noise in Power Calculation in JMP DOE platform

For some reason (can't remember why - must be something I picked up a few years ago) I have always assumed in the default Power Calculation in the DOE platform (Power Analysis) with RMSE = 1 and Anticipated Coefficient 1 is calculated for a signal to noise ratio of 2 (ie the signal is defined as twice the size of the Anticipated Coefficient)Something I have recently seen on a DOE JMP webinar sugge...

  • continuous factor needs to be treated like a mixture factor

I have a factor I'd like to treat as continuous in order to assess curvature of response, but I need to restrain "total" to 100% a kin to a mixture setting. linear constraints on mixture dont allow to limit to equal as far as I can tell, rather only less then or greater then or equal too. Thoughts on how to address this problem?

  • Response surface design with more than 8 parameters

Hi fellow JMP users, I’m trying to obtain a Response Surface model for a process. The process consists of about 24 factors and it’s known that the response of the process is nonlinear with respect to at least 10 of the factors. I have tried a screening design to eliminate some of the factors, but the best I could do is reducing it down to about 15. Any more reduction will likely lead to some of th...

  • How to edit panel box components (lables)

HiIn a script I wrote, I'm using a panel box showing two X-axis options which are long strings. Is there an efficient way to change the display name for more convenience?Code below is an example.X_list hold all string representing column names I wish to present to the X axis. Then, using panelbox to show user options. Finally, plotting bivariate of user's choice. I asked for help regarding X axis lab...

  • Model Report in GAUSSIAN PROCESS

Hi, I Designed a set of experiments using Latin Hypercube Design (3 Factors), ran all the simulations (CFD simulations), and now I am analyzing the responses using Gaussian Process. What does mean each term in the table named Model Report? I believe that larger numbers (for example in the main effect column) mean that the factor has a more important effect on the response. Is that right? For examp...

  • DoE with two-choice experiments, continuous response variable

We want to rank the preference  of population of animals for n different recipes. Recipes are tested in two-choice assays, where groups of over 100 individuals can choose one choice or the other. Preference for the group is computed as a preference index, a continuous variable that is between -1 and 1. Is there an experimental design that would help reduce the number of combinations to test in ord...

  • Sub-sampling data analysis in JMP

In Biology (Plant Sci. and Agriculture) usually we have sub-sampling data for replicates. It's very difficult to analyze these data in commonly use Stat S/W (SPSS/Minitab) because MSS(Error) is calculating wrongly.  Without taking averages of samsamples, the easiest S/W for this is using JMP and I need some assistance for this. I've found very useful Youtube video about subsampling in JMP  (CRD: S...
