  • Factor Constraints disappears center points and some other strange behavior

Hello.I tried to create a custom design with 5 continous, 2 discrete numeric and 1 categorial factor (all 2 levels). I wanted 4 center points and 3 replicates. This works fine, until I try to define a factor constraint. I have a continues factor "storage period" with the level 0 hours and 48 hours and 2 storage places (categorial), 1 in the production environment, 1 in a controlled climate room. A...

  • Going from Quarterly to Yearly averages

Hi! I have average water level elevation by quarter, but I am trying to get yearly averages. Is there a conditional statement or formula I could use to do this, even if every year doesn't have an even four quarters?

  • How to use JMP to make complete DOE table with positive Latin square.

    For example,
I need to make an 8-factor, 4-level DOE. This is a total of 344 times (not exhaustive, of course) that I made using other methods.  Thanks Experts!

  • Blocking Factor with Varying Distributions

I am a heavy user of DOE with up to 8-factors and one blocking variable.  Each block is subjected to a condition over time.  The problem is the S/N ratio improves over that time.  Assume the distribution is normal and just the width decreases over time.  Another key is the time at which each block is removed from the test is unknown prior to the test and is uncontrolled.  And each block can be rem...

  • Fit Y by X Nominal Variables

Hi All, I'm having trouble using Fit Y by X. It works when I used a this one particular Y variable, which is 2 levels (e.g., 'yes', 'no'), character type, nominal. The X variables I've used are also character type, nominal, but range from 2-5 levels (e.g., 'increase', 'decrease', 'no change'). But when I use a different Y variable, also 2 levels (e.g., 'low', 'high'), character type, nominal, it d...

  • Portion of script not executing unless run after the fact

I have a portion of script I am using to recode columns in my table to change values from "X"s to 0. I got this portion of code to work (Thank you JMP Discussion Forums!!) when run separately from my main script. However, when I insert this into a larger script (even when at the very end) JMP does not execute my command. When the code was placed in the middle of my script everything after it did n...

  • Any suggestion for DoE on chamber matching?

Hi, I have some questions about designing an effective DoE for chamber matching.Suppose that we have four identical chambers that share global factors "A" & "B", whereas Factor "C(n)" can be applied to each chamber. In other words, factors "A" & "B" will be applied to all four chambers at a time.Suppose that all Factors A&B&C have some 2nd order interactions, whilst dominant estimates come from Mai...

  • Sub-sampling data analysis in JMP

In Biology (Plant Sci. and Agriculture) usually we have sub-sampling data for replicates. It's very difficult to analyze these data in commonly use Stat S/W (SPSS/Minitab) because MSS(Error) is calculating wrongly.  Without taking averages of samsamples, the easiest S/W for this is using JMP and I need some assistance for this. I've found very useful Youtube video about subsampling in JMP  (CRD: S...
