  • Which predictive analysis method/column organisation for RSM output with duplicate samples

Hi all. So I'm working on a project where I have 2 x component classes, each of which has 4 items within the class, which are mixed together at varying concentrations over 48 combinations. Figured the best Factor way to do this was to use 2 x Continuous for the max/min concentrations for each class, then 2 x 4-level Categoricals for each of the items. Each of the combinations was made twice, so af...

  • DOE- organic synthesis

Hi all,I am trying to set up a synthesis optimization using JMP's DOE.I have two continuous factors Time (12-24h) and temperature (160-200oC).I then want to include a mixture of three chemicals: Citric acid, urea and formamide.I read up on using the mixture factor feature on JMP's guide but my mixture don't like the idea of all adding up to a sum. This is problem number one currently.I expect I wi...

  • power and sample size calculation in JMP

I'm trying to determine the sample size using one sample mean. The Std. Deviation from the historical study is 5.8E+8 and I don't know how to use it in that platform as the one sample mean has a Std. Deviation limit of 200,000. Any idea how to overcome this issue? Is it possible to use CV in the calculator?

  • help with model comparsion: DOE vs ANN boosted

Good morning guys! 1) I have a DOE and some boosted neural network models that I would like to compare their respective Rsquared (largest), RASE (smallest) and AAE (smallest) to select the best optimized models from my experiments. I saw that in the "Model Comparison" tool, through the predictive formulas saved in the experiment spreadsheet, I can make the selection according to the criteria above...

  • How do you teach DoE? - Practical Example Discussion

Hello community!   I recently saw a great LinkedIn post from Morten Nielsen on a 3D printed 'black box' tool to practically teach to complete DoE novices and it got me thinking about what examples work best to teach DoE. I'm sure a lot of us have been through the paper helicopter example in our time, which is a great (and more importantly, fun!) example and pairs nicely with the Prediction Profile...

  • Could JMP optimize factors with uncertainty?

Hello community!!,A question: will it be possible for the profiler to find the best combinations of factors with uncertainty when performing a simulation, which maximize the total utility and minimize the total cost, generating a table of the best combinations found? For example:

  • Caution: Places where Jmp does something unexpected

Definitely, JMP is Not a Spreadsheet . And that's great!! Besides this difference, there are other places where Jmp doesn't do/behave/produce what a newbie / innocent Jmp user expects.
If a user knows these issues and the remedies and workarounds -  he/she can
    a) save a lot of time b) be safe from data loss c) be sure that the results are as expected.

  • Getting NonEstimable values when crossing variables due to control setup

Hi,   I'm working on a dataset where we are testing the effects of 2 treatments and the delay between them, and I'm trying to figure out how to line up my variables so I can do a Dunnett's test against various controls. We are giving animals a dose of drug A (Variable A), waiting some time (T), and then giving them a dose of drug B . If the animal is NOT given drug A (= 0), then T doesn't have a m...

  • How to adjust the factor range for specific factors within an ongoing DOE

Hi, I designed a DOE that has two independent buffers. This DOE will range components in each buffer which will be used in a processing step sequentially. IE, buffer A, followed by buffer B. We already prepared for the DOE, and formulated the A buffers as per the recommended design. For the B buffers, we intended on ranging 2 components but later decided to reduce to ranging one component, and als...
