  • formulas not working

I am using Windows and JMP 18Im Having some problems with version 18 My most recent one is that calculation of formulas does not work.  So for example I have two columns X and Y - both continuous numeric variables  If  make a variable  Z (also numeric continuous) and use a formula in it: X * Y I get nothing  (just dots) any ideas??

  • Ordered differences combined data table - Outline Box

After running a least squares model by some variables we can have at the output window the ordered differences as the screenshot below illustrates.

Is it possible to take only the differences with the REF characterization in the level name. Note that I have the name of the Reference assigned to the "batchRefChoice" variable. So is it possible to take a combined Data table having all the difference...

  • get main data table()

For linked data tables (either summary tables or linked subsets),  CTRL + ALT + D  or a click on will take me to the "main" table

This is very convenient. Great that JMP is willing to share this knowledge.
To make the most of it:

Is there a JSL function to get the main table? As of JMP18, there is a new function called is linked subset() that can be used to check if a data table is a linked subset.

  • Selecting Cells based on color

    Hello,

After running the outlier analysis tool in JMP, I color coded the cells that contained outliers. How can I select all these cells and replace them with the name, "outlier"? The next step, would be to name all the other cells "normal".

Let me know if this is feasible. A snapshot of the datasheet in appended in this post.

  • How does one perform Bitwise operations in JMP formulas?

Hi, I imagine this is simply an issue in which I am not finding the correct formula option but how does one perform basic bitwise operations in a JMP formula? e.g. Here's an example Python example that I would like to replicate in JMP: lambda x: ((((x>>1)&0x1))<<2) thanks, Ross

  • Storing data tables as metadata (table variables) JSL

Table variables are used to store metadata within a data table (JSL doc, general doc) However, they seem to be limited to variables as strings only (see code below). What would be the best option to store a data table as a table variable? Names Default To Here( 1 ); dt = Open( "$SAMPLE_DATA/Big Class.jmp" ); dt_metadata = Open( "$SAMPLE_DATA/Solubility.jmp" ); dt << Set Table Variable( "dt_user...

  • Is there a way to change the defaults for the Summary platform?

Hi All,   Does any know if it's possible to change the defaults of the Summary platform (Tables > Summary)?   By default, Summary sets the new column names to be stat(column) and checks that the new data table is linked to the original data table.  For much of the work I do, I don't like these features and wish I didn't have to change them every time I run a Summary. I know it can be useful at tim...

  • Custom Binning - how to edit the bins?

Wow, custom binning even works with dates, cool! There is even a possibility to edit the binning. But: quite uncomfortable to type in the dates in seconds and to correct the labels manually. What do I have to change in my workflow to be able to enter the "dates" in a usual format - and to get the labels adjusted automatically?
