Hans Rosling, un des maîtres de la visualisation des données, vient de disparaître. “ … few people will appreciate the music if I just show them the notes. Most of us need to listen to the music to understand how beautiful it is. But often that’s how we present statistics; we just show the notes, we don’t play the music.”Son GapMinder a beaucoup inspiré le Graph Builder de JMP.

WV JMP User Group Meeting on Jan 9th -- The Third Time Is the Charm

Hello WVJUGers,   I have been bugging Jordan about the bad luck associated with number 13, as it pertains to our inability to have a meeting to hear him demonstrate JMP13. I'm not sure the evidence supports it, but maybe we can help start off 20...

Data Mining for Business Analytics: Concepts, Techniques, and Applications with JMP Pro

Data! What is it good for?

As analytic practitioners we rely on data to make judgments in everything we do.  But does your data reflect reality?  What am I getting at?  What more truth is there than raw data? And what is more exciting than turning that data into actionable information? To answer this question, let me tell you a story about myself that some of you might be able to relate to. Over the years I have put on a fe...

Exploring data janitorial tools in JMP and JSL

Perfect data sets are rare. Even more so if they are manually entered!  Fortunately, JMP offers data janitorial tools to help clean up our messes. The examples below demonstrate some (but definitely not all!) methods of finding and fixing two common manual entry goof ups.
First let’s set up a quick data set to work with. You will need to copy the script below into a new script window and click the ...

Time Series Analysis - Seasonal Variation Modeling

One thing common to almost all manucturing plants is Statistical Process Control. How well a site a consistently make the same product over and over again can be the difference between a mediocer company and a great one. One key to that process is looking for shifts or trends in the data. Although not commonly used, Time Series Analysis can be a helpful tool along the journey of variation reductio...
