What inspired this wish list request?  There is not a way to statistically compare ROC curves such as DeLong's test.     What is the improvement you would like to see? What inspired this wish list request? For many users JMP is the standard application for data analysis, and Sharepoint is the standard collaboration platform. That Sharepoint can not be used in a safe and convenient way to share JMP files is a substantial drawback for many companies. See earlier wish of @hogi for more details: Optimize Sharepoint Integration - JMP User Community The planned data connectors the way I understand will not fix this issue.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  I would like to see a builtin capability of JMP to: open a file from Sharepoint (and lock it in readwrite mode if not already locked, if already locked open it in readonly mode) possibility to work with that file like with files from other sources and close+save the file after making changes (and release file on Sharepoint for others to change)  Seemless integration (many users working together in one JMP file) is not possible in overseeable future, but above features are feasible and reasonable in my opinion.   Why is this idea important?  JMP's inability to work with SharePoint disrupts our company's workflows and requires additional ressources and opportunities for errors in dealing with it.     ... What inspired this wish list request?  We have been struggling with incomplete datasets, i.e. from different query executions we got different number of rows from database using "new sql query" with ODBC-DSN. This occurs because the query connection runs in timeout during data fetch, and JMP did not forward the error and inform user about this.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  I need JMP to inform user about the ODBC error, that the user knows that there is an issue and she/he can fix it.   Why is this idea important?  Because with this behaviour the user looses the confidence that data acquisition by JMP works correctly and dataset is incomplete. It is just a bug fix.    As a workaround I was told to configure the timeout in the ODBC-settings, but this will work only, when user is aware of the issue. Without JMP informing him about the issue, he will probably not be aware of it. Even when he is aware of the issue, the next query can take longer, and he again may run into the same issue. So he needs to pull the data several times to know if there is an issue. That's something that I don't like.     ... View more

What inspired this wish list request?  Currently, the option for filtering in the Query builder is global for all filter, meaning I can either filter for things contained (normal filter) or not contained (checkbox inverse activated) in the filter column    What is the improvement you would like to see?  In SQL, it is very common to use both a filter for data I want (IN in SQL terms) and data I don't want (NOT IN in SQL terms) to further select only the data that meets the conditions I set. I'd like to set the mode inverse for each filter box separately to chain IN and NOT IN conditions in my query   Why is this idea important?  This is for me a must have since otherwise I'm forced to query large data sets with only IN or NOT IN filters and then have to refine further in JMP by e.g. manually deleting rows, which is quite contrary to the usual logic used in SQL where I only query the stuff I need   ... Say you wish to update specification limits of some parameters of your manufacturing process searching for possibly more suitable limits. A way to find such limits is to calculate tolerance intervals (TI) for those parameters. A TI considers the proportion of future results to be within the limits range. Since future results are obviously unknown calculation also requires a predefined confidence level. Different combinations of confidence levels and proportions would result in different TIs. A nice feature in JMP is the ability to add specification limits as a column property, which would use those for process capability analysis and show them on charts. However, a similar property for TI is missing. A way to compare specification limits and TI limits would be to manually add the TI limits to a chart so both would be shown on that chart. Doing so for a single parameter is reasonable but what if there are a dozen or two parameters to be explored. In such case, this may become tedious and time consuming, especially if wanting to explore different sets of TIs with several combinations of proportion and confidence level.   An ability to have TI as a column property, would allow for easy comparisons between set of limits. Currently in JMP it is possible to save the calculated TI as the specification limits but not having both intervals as separate column attributes since saving the TI as specification limits would delete any existing limits.   I have already opened a case for this request but would love to hear from other users about this suggestion, thanks. ... I'm not sure why I need all this formatting capabilities in a suggestions box, it's really quite a hassle to try and just provide information. I'm truncating my response because of the amount of hassle and disruption this input box is providing. )   What inspired this wish list request?  We use National Instrument data loggers here at my company and their standard output is a TDMS file. I can't import this directly to jmp, I have to open them all in excel first using an excel add-in, and save them, and then open them in jmp. It's just numbers, seems like jmps specialty :)     What is the improvement you would like to see? Please describe the idea for improving JMP. What inspired this wish list request?  Calculating tolerance intervals with a set distribution would be great for better data handling.  Right now, the only option is non-parametric and normal distribution.     What is the improvement you would like to see?  Options when selecting tolerance interval type on the menu, maybe instead of just "normal" or "non-parametric" it could say "match current distribution" or have a list of all distribution options.    Why is this idea important?  There are not many data sets that fall into just one or the other and the distribution platform is already built in, but irrelevant if you can't calculate the TI from it.    ... What inspired this wish list request? At the moment, only a single administrator can be assigned for the JMP software account for the entirety of the business.  This was not an issue in the past, but the changes in user management for JMP18 create a burdensome requirement to manage the email address of many hundreds of JMP users.  This task would ideally be delegated to an internal IT support function.   What is the improvement you would like to see? I would like for it to be possible to assign additional administrators for a single account.  Or, if that is not possible, can we create the role of 'License Administrator' who would be able to make changes to the userlist but would not have the other responsibilities of the administrator role. The new role should not be geographically limited (as many IT support teams are globally distributed).   Why is this idea important? The administrator is often a senior figure and typically quite busy.  It is not efficient to bother them (me!) with updates to the authorised user list.  It would also make for a more robust system if this process was not dependent on a single individual (who might be on long term sick leave, for example).       ... What inspired this wish list request? In past releases of JMP (15 / 16), one could have a legend for a simple one-way analysis showing the various variables that were used to generate it.  It is now gone.  PLEASE bring it back.   What is the improvement you would like to see? Bring back the legend for this type of graph.   Why is this idea important? High-level executives do not want to have things like quantile plots or other items "cluttering" the data field when looking at overall data pictures, and without that, one cannot seem to generate a legend for a one-way analysis.  This is not helpful and will limit the exposure of the product to line-scientists and their managers / directors.  Sr. executives will wonder why such an expensive product, does not have such foundational and relevant tools for displaying useful data immediately available.  PLEASE go and fixt this pronto.     ... What inspired this wish list request?  Trying to create a report in which users could see the results in table format and utilize filters to reduce the data which they are currently viewing.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  I would like to be able to order the rows of tabulate based on the statistics columns. User could either click on the Rows and similar menu as graph builder could open (preferably pre-filled with the summary statistics / columns found from the tabulate). I wouldn't mind if the menus were exactly the same we have in Graph Builder as it would already be a massive improvement to the current situation where we only have check box for ordering by the count of grouping columns.   Why is this idea important?  Makes tabulate useful tool for reporting without the need of excessive scripting and creation of extra columns.     Change value order in Tabulate is other ordering related wish list item, but to my understanding this is requesting for value order creation directly from tabulate. ... What inspired this wish list request? Please describe the current issue that needs improvement or the problem to be solved that is not easy or possible right now, with an example use case.  In many industrial processes, it is common to assess multiple quality characteristics simultaneously. These characteristics often exhibit correlation. Introducing multivariable process capability into JMP would be beneficial to practitioners, allowing for a more comprehensive capability analysis that considers these correlations.   What is the improvement you would like to see? Please describe the idea for improving JMP. Please include mock-ups, wireframes, screenshots, scripts, other documents or examples from other software that help describe the change you would like to see.  I propose the addition of multivariate process indices and corresponding visualizations to the JMP Quality platform. These tools would enable users to assess multivariate process capabilities more effectively. This functionality is available in StatGraphics software (documentation and screenshot attached).   Why is this idea important? Please describe the value to you and/or other users if the idea is implemented (for example, ease of use, must have,…). Many processes require simultaneous evaluation of multiple dimensions for effective quality control. The ability to consider correlations between quality variables in capability assessments is important. HI We have written all our queries such that the variables/columns are in order of process flow. Since JMP18 the column list on left of tabgle automatically orders those alphabetically. While this might be good for some it is a big hassle for us.   Would you please revert tis automatic feature and instead create a "button" so that those who want alphabetically can simply do one click and get it.   Max ... What inspired this wish list request?  Developing Python code to run in JMP typically involves cloning a Github repository and pointing JMP to the local copy of the code as so: jmputils.jpip('install','myrepo c:\\pathto\\myrepo')     What is the improvement you would like to see?  Provide a mechanism (button, API, ??) for the user to restart the Python kernel, without having to close and re-open JMP.   Why is this idea important?  During code development, there are numerous changes to the local code, each requiring the new code to be loaded into the Python kernel.  Currently, the only way to get new local code loaded into the Python kernel is to close and restart JMP.  This slows down development significantly and could be a blocker for some developers.      ... What inspired this wish list request? Please describe the current issue that needs improvement or the problem to be solved that is not easy or possible right now, with an example use case. The column switcher isn't always available and when it is available (specifically when using a "by" variable it does not update the spec limits when switching between stability parameters      What is the improvement you would like to see? Please describe the idea for improving JMP. Please include mock-ups, wireframes, screenshots, scripts, other documents or examples from other software that help describe the change you would like to see. It would be great to use the column switcher when running stability with or without a by variable and have it rerun the analysis based on the correct specs in the column properties.      Why is this idea important? Please describe the value to you and/or other users if the idea is implemented (for example, ease of use, must have,…). Currently have to create a script for every parameter of the stability program (14+ parameters) for each product in our pipeline it also makes it difficult to easily bulk export the information into a single document. it would be a huge timesaver to utilize a column switcher and add a journaling script to automate this process as can be done for other platforms.      ... What inspired this wish list request?    I have some convoluted formulas that I'm stuggling to keep straight and I don't want to make my column names longer than they already are. I want to remember what I was working on when I come back to it in a few days. I'll often put some comments in the source script (or just a blank script) and wanted to do the same.     What is the improvement you would like to see?    When you comment in a column the comments are dropped. Can we keep them?   Why is this idea important?    It'll allow me to come back to previous work with a better idea of what I've done. Sometimes it can feel like I need to start from 0 if I can't exactly remember where I was. And other people will have more clues when looking at one of my files.      ... View more
