What inspired this wish list request?  In formulation and similar fields, experiments often involve both mixture components and process factors. For standard numeric DOEs, JMP offers RSM models as a default, making DoE planning and model selection easy. However, for combined mixture/process designs, the equivalent—KCV models—are not included as a default option. Users must manually select and enter all relevant effects, which is time-consuming and error-prone. What is the improvement you would like to see?  Add “KCV Model” as a default model complexity option in JMP’s DOE planning and model selection, just like RSM for "standard" factors. This would let users select KCV directly, with JMP automatically generating the correct model terms—no manual effect selection needed. KCV models would then serve as the default for mixture/process combinations, just as RSM models do for numeric factors.   Why is this idea important?  Automating KCV model setup would save time, reduce errors, and make DOE planning much easier for users working with mixtures and process factors. What inspired this wish list request? Currently, when fitting multiple responses sequentially in JMP (for example, in a DOE analysis or when running several model fits for different responses), there is no way to cancel all fits at once. If you realize during the process that you need to stop, you must manually cancel each individual model fit one by one. Example use case: Imagine you are fitting 10 responses in a complex model. After starting the process, you notice an error in the model specification or decide to change the approach. At this point, you have to wait for each fit to start and then cancel them individually, which is inefficient and time-consuming. What is the improvement you would like to see? Introduce a “Cancel All Fits” option that immediately stops all ongoing and queued model fits in the current session. This could be implemented as: A global cancel button in the progress dialog when multiple fits are running. Or an option in the Fit Model platform to abort all queued fits. Other software often provides a global cancel or “Stop All” functionality for batch processes, which greatly improves usability. Why is this idea important? What inspired this wish list request? Seeing how subset by table names are invoked, especially if a custom output table name is desired. releated to wish list item: https://community.jmp.com/t5/JMP-Wish-List/Subsetting-using-quot-Subset-by-quot-naming-option/idi-p/627458 What is the improvement you would like to see? I would like to have the option to keep the catetgory name even if a custom output is used.  Example: Big Class, subset by :sex gives 2 tables sex=M and sex=F .. if I update the output table name to be "new Name" the resulting tables are new Name 1 and new Name 2 ... with no tracking of sex other than the table variable. I'd like some options: 1. to include the category in the custom output name (eg. "new Name sex=F" "new Name sex=M") 2. to have an option to leave the subset by column in the data table so I don't need to pull from  a table variable OR a table name to immedately know which category i'm looking at (while the table variable helps, it's kind of small to read vs the rest of the information in the table) Why is this idea important? Being able to quickly identify metric/metadata with tables is a halmark of what makes JMP so user friendly. What inspired this wish list request?  Workflow is WONDERFUL and I use it a lot.  I have automated some data cleansing and calculations that I run every month that are similar in structure but different enough to have separate but similar workflows in their own reusable projects.  I don't change them very often, but when I do make an improvement, I have to edit a lot of individual workflow steps across multiple projects.  This would be simpler to do if these were just in scripts where I could find/replace or edit instead of hunting for the right workflow step over and over again.  Also, I have noticed that scripts run faster than workflows, so if it is something I do repeatedly and don't need to interact with, it would run faster as a script. (But I am SO glad that I didn't have to write the scripts!) What is the improvement you would like to see? It would be good if there were a way to take a workflow, push a button, and have JMP put all the workflow steps into a script with semicolons, etc., ready to be saved and used. What inspired this wish list request? Answering to the topic Re: How do orthogonal axis values change with the number of center points? - JMP User Community, I have created several orthogonal blocks CCD. However, when I try to run the "Evaluate design" script from the design table, the script does nothing. When using the Evaluate design platform, I have an error message : So evaluation of orthogonal blocks CCD is by default facing an error/bug when the design table is created.    What is the improvement you would like to see? The fix was quite easy to found: for the block factor, the value of the column property "RunsPerBlock" is set to 0 by default, which makes the Evaluate design platform bug. When setting the value to the value displayed during design creation (in the screenshot 6), then the script 'Evaluate design" from the design table and the Evaluate design platform can work normally:   Creating the Orthogonal Blocks CCD for 3 factors and Block size = 6 In the block factor column, RunsPerBlock is set by default to 0, hence the bug. When I change the value to 6, the script "Evaluate design" works normally:   Why is this idea important? I haven't tested extensively all orthogonal blocks CCDs to check if this bug was always present, but it's present for at least Orthogonal Blocks CCD from 2 to 5 factors. What inspired this wish list request?  Spilled ranges are used extensively by any serious Excel user.  Numerous times when I've wanted to pull in data from Excel to JMP (which is something JMP should want to encourage as much as possible) for a quick analysis I find that the import did not work because JMP isn't recognizing the true used range and stops importing after the last column and last row that is NOT a spilled result.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  I would like this to work as intended.   Why is this idea important?  This error in JMP requires a small but non-zero workaround that discourages me using JMP at a single click. As a heavy user of JMP, I often work with multiple variables displayed on the same axis in Graph Builder. For example, when axis titles are like  ID 2 / THICKNESS 1 / THICKNESS 2 / TIME / ID , due to multiple variables being stacked or grouped, it becomes visually difficult to interpret which tick label belongs to which variable. I would like the ability to color both the tick label font and the tick label area (the region between the axis title and the plot) based on the variable. This would greatly improve readability and help users quickly distinguish between variables in complex visualizations.   ... View more

What inspired this wish list request?  We do have lots of different handlers (which work or not and are useful or not with the current implementations... but that is separate wish list item which already exists) but there isn't one for reports. One case which is most common for me is that user modifies how graph builder looks like and I would like to trigger something based on that.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  I would like to see a new handler for reports. This handler would trigger when user makes changes to the report. Some examples: Columns have changes in some role Frame sizes have changed Title was changed Axis min/max value changed ...   Why is this idea important?  Allows easier access to changes in JMP reports for scripters. What inspired this wish list request?  Having a custom new window which used multiple data tables for reports and I couldn't freely choose which table was associated data.   What is the improvement you would like to see?  Let as choose which data table is used as associated data table in a new window (at least for Type("Report") windows). In best case Associated Data could even have multiple items and user could select from a list which to bring front. This would require slight change to the icon (add down arrow next to it like "Select for Arrange" has).   Why is this idea important?  Makes "View Associated Data" somewhat useful for windows which have multiple reports.   I do have a workaround for this in this post What determines which data table is seen as "Associated Data" for New Window? which I never got answer to.   ... What inspired this wish list request?  I am working with multiple import of excel sheets from various users and some are applying filters to have the required informations. However I want to import all data of the files in an automated way.     What is the improvement you would like to see?  It happens that hidden and filtered rows are handled differently in excel and JMP 18. It would be good to have a "<<Set Excel Suppress Filtered Rows( 0 )," so all excels don't need to be checked to be sure no filters are applied before running the automation.      Why is this idea important?  This is important in the aim of automatization of data from team or group when not all people have JMP and use filtered specific excel files. What inspired this wish list request?    When you click on a report various things happen including that a datatable associated with it may become current.  I recently experienced some cases where I would like a different data table to be current in that case but I can't currently specify anything to happen when a report is clicked on.   What is the improvement you would like to see?    An OnActivate ability for a new window that would be similar to OnClose, OnOpen or OnValidate.  This would be for when a window gets focus and comes to the top as happens when a user clicks the title bar.  JMP does things in this case and this OnActivate would happen after those things.  That way OnActivate could override what table JMP decided to make current and would generally have the last word on what happens.     Why is this idea important?    The cases I noticed were for reports with live plots where more than one table was involved or where the tables involved were private tables that can't themselves be made current.  JMP support encouraged me to make this wish list request (case number below). Through my case with them I learned some of what JMP will do when a report is clicked on the upshot was that for complex reports with multiple tables involved it can be complicated and may be difficult to guarantee that it will make a particular choice.   I also think there may be other useful things one might want to do "OnActivate" (maybe there are displays that could be refreshed in that case for example, and it just seems like a logical extension of the available functions.   ... For lists the automatic flattening  might be OK ... let's say for 60% of the use cases - but it "hurts" for the remaining ones. What inspired this wish list request?  The list of currency symbols are not complete, along with all the global currency 3 letter abbreviations, which is not great for countries not covered in JMP's currency list   What is the improvement you would like to see?  I really would like Vietnamese Dong symbol and VND abbreviation included in the currency format list. No doubt there are other currencies are not included. What inspired this wish list request?  JMP has made a range of machine learning algorithms readily available - a major deficiency in most of these is the lack of uncertainty measures for predictions, particularly for classification models.  There are a number of tools available for assessing model accuracy (e.g., ROC curves, confusion matrices, etc.) but few for assessing the uncertainty in the predictions.  Unlike classical statistical models (where there is an assumed error structure), the degree of uncertainty in the predictions is often lacking.  Conformal prediction appears to be a relatively straightforward way to provide this for a variety of machine learning methods.     What is the improvement you would like to see?  I would like to see the conformal prediction capability attached to any of the classification modeling methods employed in JMP.  The resulting output should show (for classification models) the predicted classification sets, including an indeterminate set where the desired level of certainty cannot be assured.      Why is this idea important?  Conformal prediction has been around for at least 20 years, but is hindered (in my opinion) by an unnecessarily mathematical description of the technique.  I think it is more straightforward than as typically presented.  I also think it is a nonparametric technique for quantifying uncertainty in predictions - sorely needed as machine learning models are increasingly used.  The lack of quantifying predictive uncertainty (rather than just accuracy) limits the usefulness of these methods, and potentially makes their application misguided (yielding predictions where there may be little to distinguish between observations that can reliably be predicted from those for which it cannot.  For one reference, see https://arxiv.org/pdf/2107.07511.pdf.     ...
