Hello, I would like to suggest a video/GIF Export function from the profiler animation (by hand or even with the animation tool already provided).   This would be very helpful for adding a dynamic presentation of a profiler in a PPT (without having to export as interactive html or using JMP) which would impact the flow of a presentation.   Thanks! Hello JMP team, I'd like to suggest that when a prediction formula is saved, the name of the column includes the model type it came from.  For example, from a neural net instead of "Predicted Y" you would get "NN Predicted Y" and GenReg would be "GR Y Prediction Formula" vs "Y Prediction Formula".   This would help with keeping the columns straight when you are saving multiple models.   Thanks for considering this suggestion.   Steve ... For 2-sided normal theory tolerance limits there are two approaches based on content: assure that the interval covers at least p proportion of the population with specified confidence assure that the interval covers no more than (1-p)/2 from each tail of the population (cf. Hahn and Meeker [1991, 2017] or Krishnamoorthy and Mathew [2009]). The second approach (introduced by Owen, 1964) is more stringent, producing wider intervals, but directly related to an exact lower confidence bound for process capability index Cpk (cf. Julia is a fast, dynamic, composable, general purpose programming language well suited to statistical data analysis, machine learning, automatic differentiation, other numerical modeling, as well as more general purpose programs. It feels like a scripting language, but runs compiled -- using Just-In-Time (JIT) compiler technology to compile code on the fly. It was designed from the ground up to support multi-threading, multiprocessing, and distributed multiprocessing. Julia solves the "two language" problem -- you don't need one language for ease-of-use prototyping, and a second language for speed -- as Julia is already easy to use and fast. You can write your high performance code in Julia itself.    This proposal would be to support Julia similar to how Python is currently supported.    Data types are highly compatible between the two languages   JMP Data Type Julia Data Type Boolean Boolean Data Table DataFrames.jl Associative Array Dictionary Numeric Float64 Matrix Float64 Matrix List tuple String Unicode string   One advantage of Julia over Python is that there is no Numpy -- that functionality is just built-in.  In addition, instead of telling users what packages they need to install, JMP could use PackageCompiler.jl to create a stand-alone binary of Julia with all of the packages that JMP requires and distribute that with JMP.  Julia integration would work right out of the box (or "after the install program finishes"). Advanced Julia users would have the option of replacing it, but for everyone else, it just works.    Julia is an exciting, rapidly growing language in statistical, machine learning, and scientific computing. Type hints in Python were a beautiful addition when they got added.  With JSL also not being a typed language, I'm wondering if we could get something similar.   This function is sort of served by new custom function, and Naturaldocs usage if there are diligent programmers. I’m trying to extract data from 16-bit grayscale TIFF images.  The only documented method I’ve found involves commands like: …   RawTiffImage = Open( FilePath, tif ); {r, g, b} = RawTiffImage << Get Pixels( "rgb" ); But this yields matrices r, g, and b with only 8-bit grayscale values, and I lose the other 8 bits.   Correspondence with the support team informs me that JMP cannot process 16-bit TIFF image files.  I would be grateful for the ability to directly import 16-bit images directly into a single matrix. ... The idea is to have an option in the 'new formula column' (right click on column) that inverse a formula function.    For exemple, the formula of a column :z is: :x / (1 + :y) Then I select click on 'New formula column/inverse function'. Then a popup menu or an additional menu propose to select the independant variable. Let say I click on :y. Then a new column called Inverse[z][y] is created with the following formula: :x/:z - 1 This features would be extremly appreciated for inversing transformation.          ... View more

When an excel table contains break line (ASCII CODE Alt+010) in some cell, the copy paste feature creates several row.  Removing break line in the excel file is somehow difficult and change the layout. It would save a lot of time and effort if JMP would deal with break line by enabling break line in the title of column or by replace them by any ponctuation character when pasting. ... View more

Two items for review: I would like to suggest that on the Process Screener platform, you add two options to the red arrow drop down: "select out of spec rows" and "select out of control rows".  When selected they would highlight the corresponding out of spec or out of control rows per the process screener analysis.  If both were selected it would be if it is out of control or out of spec the row would be selected.  The select out of spec option is currently available in the capability platform. Hello,   I believe the graph builder is the best part of JMP. It is very powerful and allows to make a lot of visualization in an easy way, much quicker than you could ever do in Excel. I'm also pretty sure that a lot of JMP users use only the graph builder and barely any other functionalities, so I believe there is a strong business case to keep improving it.   So, GB is great but it kinda lacks polish. It feels like all the graphs I make look the same. Always the same layout and colours.  Always with this same basic look, with a really oldschool win98 feel to it. Everything is one solid colour, no difference between outline and fill colour, no effects of shadow, transparency, perspective, everything is flat.    Wouldn't it be nice if we add some options to customize that?  You know, all the small things you can do in Excel to make graphs pretty.    For examples, giving bars in bar chart a different aspect. Hatch patterns, hollow bars, 3D bars, etc.  Being able to easily choose where the legends are, having a few pre-selected layouts, like these models from Excel:       Being able to more easily change various aspect of a graph. Example: I want to place a graph on a powerpoint presentation and the axis legends are a bit small. I would be much quicker to have a Font Size button in a toolbar, rather than having to open a separate window for this. Same for changing colours and other elements.   Being able to resize everything in the graph builder. There are some situations where the text is a bit too long for the legends, so sometimes you end up with a legend taking half the space of the graph. Especially if you use overlay/colors etc. Being able to easily change this would be great.   A good way to do this would be for each element in the graph to behave like a Text box. I mean Text box in the sense of how they behave in MS Word/ Powerpoint, that you can just click on and resize. Even better would be if this could be pasted in powerpoint in the same way an excel graph is pasted. (where it can still be edited and resized).      Also there are some visualisations that are missing. for example scatterplot on top of bar chart : I don't believe one can make spider charts either:       Here is an example of a better looking graph, you can make in Excel, in one click from an existing graph:      Isn't that a hell of a lot nicer to look at than the one below?          ... Hello JMP team, I'd like to suggest the ability to have the space between spec limits set in the column properties be shaded.  This would work much like adding "range" reference lines in the axis options.  So the column property box  for setting up spec limits would contain a checkbox for "shade between spec limits" and a box for choosing the shading color.  Since sometime there is only one spec limit, there could also be another input box where you could enter the end of the spec color band .   Thanks for considering this request.   Steve ... Hello JMP team, I'd like to suggest two options for speeding up the usage of JMP.  While JMP is extremely flexible having to dive into drop down menus can be a slowdown in the use of JMP. Add a custom ribbon for actions and script for analysis windows.  These buttons in the platform specific toolbar would be set up in the preference menu. There should also be a scroll lock for them so they are always visible.  See example 1 pict. Add in when a shortcut button on the keyboard is presses that a floating menu box would appear next to your mouse that would have actions and script buttons you selected.  These buttons in the toolbox would be set up in the preference menu.  The box could be set up to disappear after a single click or by pressing the close icon/shortcut button again. The laser pointer in JMP is a great tool for highlighting things as one teaches using JMP.  It would be a lot more handy if, in addition to freehand drawing, one could create arrows and rectangles to highlight items in the output.  My freehand drawing sometimes actually obscures what I'm trying to highlight thanks to the uncertainties of mouse movements under control of just my hand.  (Hopefully that's clear?)  Thank you. ... Allow joining two data tables based on not exact matches. I come across situations where I have to be able to join two databases (tables) together based on timestamp which aren't exact matches. This would allow me to do it based on those timestamps. The joins could also be based on string-similarities but I haven't (yet) come across situations where I would need to do that.   Continuous column join should let user to define tolerance and allow using grouping column(s).   Below are some example packages, which can provide some ideas on what type of joins and options would be helpful: Simpler package could be similar to Pandas - merge_asof . More complicated join options could be found from R - fuzzyjoin: Join data frames on inexact matching which allows joining based on multiple different matching types (string similarity, regex, numeric values within tolerance) There are couple of scripts found from JMP Community which can do this (or parts of this), but it would be helpful to have this possibility directly built in JMP: "Fuzzymerge" - join tables with slightly different timestamps by @klk  Join Nearest Rows - Join tables by using continuous columns and nearest values by @jthi (me) ... Excel import wizard is very useful, but if your first row is blank it will sometimes treat the column as numeric and empty the data. Changing the column type in the wizard (JMP 17EA) doesn't cause a re-import, and running the table macro with the column specified as character doesn't solve the problem (appears it imports and then changes).   Suggestion:  either allow 'import all columns as text' (or perhaps 'preserve all cell contents'), or something that allows you to restart the import process after assigning data types to columns. ... When creating a Summary Table, units (stored as a column property) are not copied to that summary table. Of course, this is understandable for some summary properties, such as N, % of total, etc. It would be super helpful if column properties could be copied as an option when creating a summary table.   Similarly, the units column property is included in the axis labels of some reports (e.g. Graph Builder, Fit Y by X) but is ignored in others (e.g. Scatterplot Matrix). Please make this more consistent across platforms, it's a pain to relabel all of the Scatterplot Matrix axes! ... View more
