This example guides you through the construction of a split-plot design and the analysis of the experimental results. Split-plot designs are commonplace in manufacturing and engineering studies. In a split-plot experiment, hard-to-change factors are reset only between one whole plot and the next whole plot. The whole plot is divided into subplots, and the levels of the easy-to-change factors are r...
In this example, you construct a two-way split-plot design and then analyze the resulting data.A two-way split-plot (also known as strip-plot or split-block) design consists of two split-plot components. In industry, these designs arise when batches of material or experimental units from one processing stage pass to a second processing stage. To use a two-way split-plot design, you must be able to...
In this example, you create a design to optimize the yield of a chemical reaction. Your experimental factors include a categorical factor at three levels, where constraints involve two of the levels. You use the Disallowed Combinations Filter to enter the constraints.
This example shows you how to include fixed covariates in a design. You want to study the Shrinkage of parts produced by an injection molding process. You have data on 25 batches of raw (thermoplastic) material for potential use in your study. For each batch, you have measurements of Specific Gravity and Tensile Strength, and you have a Supplier identifier. These are your covariates. You want to s...
This example guides you through constructing a design for a mixture of mixtures situation and analyzing the resulting data.
In this example, you create a design for an experiment involving both mixture factors and process factors. The design is an 18-run design that is balanced with respect to the levels of a categorical factor. The design enables you to fit a full response surface. You use Design Evaluation plots and results to examine the relative prediction variance of the design.
This example shows you how to construct a response surface design that accommodates two continuous factors and a blocking factor with four runs per block. You can include categorical or discrete numeric factors in a similar fashion.
This example guides you through constructing a supersaturated design to study 12 factors in 8 runs and then shows you how to analyze data that results from this experiment.
Guides you through an example of constructing a design with a fixed block. Suppose that you want to study three factors. You can run only three trials per day and you expect substantial day-to-day variation. You need to block your design over multiple days. Also, you want to estimate all two-factor interactions.
Generalized regression approach to Bradley-Terry model for the chip tasting data collected from Potato chip smackdown: US vs. Canada - JMP Blog.
This add-in will randomly make a melody based on some options you set, then your Mac will beatbox it to you. (Only works on Mac.)The options are filled in with default values so Steps 1-5 are optional.Set the musical scale.Set the key.Set the octave range (the lower the octave, the deeper the voice).Fill in the phonics. You can use the default value, or use the instructions to change it.Set the ...

I created this set of female muscle map shape files to help with my workout data visualization as featured on the JMP blog (Using my muscle map as a selection filter for workout data) and I'll use them again in my upcoming Discovery talk about that project. Some of the shapes are not ideal, but I thought I'd post them in case anyone else has data and would like to visualize it overlaid on a body ...
Example of a covering array where some factors can not be tested at the same time.
Report by Exception using IR Control ChartsReporting by exception may be just a little counterintuitive for checking control charts?A key concept of control chart review is that a person actually looks at each chart. This howevergets a little tedious with the daunting task of frequently reviewing hundreds of process variablesthat typically contain few special cause events. For reviewing many contr...
Is Belgium chocolate really better than US chocolcate?A blind taste test with 25 subjects testing 5 pairs of chocolates. The experiment was designed using the JMP Custom Designer, and the data are analyzed using JMP's Choice platform. See the JMP blog for a description of the experimental design and the resulting analysis.
This add-in allows you to easily manage your open JMP windows whether you use Windows or Mac. - You can hide, show, minimize, or close your JMP windows. - You can act on multiple windows at once. - You can sort and filter the list of windows shown in the window manager.

This add in has a simple script that allows you to enter specification limits, ICC and Bias for your measurement system, process mean and Cp, unit revenue, and units produced. (Unit revenue is how much revenue selling one unit will produce. This includes both the cost to manufacture the unit and the profit.) Several plots and and two tables are produced. This script is intended to help people ...

The log_execute_sql utility executes Oracle SQL statements and looks in the log for any errors. If errors are found they are displayed in a message box. There is a debug flag that, when turned on, will display the SQL statement before execution. For JMP 11 and above needs the log window open, settable via a preference (see comments below).Function Name: log_execute_sqlDescription: Execute...
This add-in allows you to define and manipulate complex numbers in JMP as in Microsoft Excel. This is an updated version that fixes a bug in 'IMDIV()' (see below).Yet another updated version that makes IMARGUMENT() adhere to the same convention as Excel.

Data from Redfin.com used by Julian Parris julian in his JMP 12 Mastering JMP Live Webcasts | Mastering JMP webcast on Basic Analysis and Plotting.
An example for testing the preferences for the Categorical platform in JMP. All possible settings for any pair of factors appears in the design.
After unzipping the files, open the data table and run the script. A summary table will be created, with an expression column that houses a different graph in each row. Since the graph column has the label property turned on, hovering on a given row's point in a graph will display the row's image.NOTE: Requires JMP 12.
