Use a Formula to parse Month and Day from a numeric date/time field

Hi Community-

I'm stuck. I have a numeric date/time field that I'm wanting to parse out the Month and Day only into a new column using Formula under the column properties menu.

02/01/2013 12:30:00 AM need to get to MMDD or 02/01.

Any suggestions how I can accomplish this?

Thanks, J

Re: Use a Formula to parse Month and Day from a numeric date/time field

I am not sure there is such a date format, i.e numeric. But if a string representation is acceptable this formula should work:

Right( Char( Month( :Column ) / 100 ), 2 ) || Right( Char( Day( :Column ) / 100 ), 2 )

or

Right( Char( Month( :Column ) / 100 ), 2 ) || "/" || Right( Char( Day( :Column ) / 100 ), 2 )
