Spec limit lines lost when exporting graph to PDF

When I export my journal to a PDF file (using File ➔ Export ➔ Image Format PDF), the spec limits disappear from some of my plots.  Here's a plot from within my journal:

And here's the same plot in the PDF after export:

The journal (and the PDF) have quite a few more plots, and when I look at the log after export, I see this:

After reading the comment by @briancorcoran in this discussion, I suspect those messages are related.

 

The issue manifests the same way when I generate the files in JSL (which is my use case):

 

jrn << Save Journal( "report.jrn" );
jrn << Save PDF    ( "report.pdf" );

I haven't scoured my PDFs closely enough to know whether other graphic elements are also missing, but nothing stands out so much as this.  I see this issue on a Mac running both JMP 14 & 15;  I run JMP 14 on Windows and also see it there.  Any suggestions on how to get the spec limits to show up in the PDF would be appreciated.
