NASA server still available for background maps?

Until a few weeks ago, I was able to access the NASA server for background maps in bubble plot. Now, when I select NASA server, and wait, and wait, and wait--nothing happens! I used to get a background image in 10-20 seconds, now nothing. Did they change their server address?

Unfortunately, they did worse than change their address. They took away the WMS functionality we relied on.

You can see their message here:

We'll have more information on the JMP Blog soon.

There's good information, and links to other sites that have full WMS services, at North Carolina State University's site: http://www.lib.ncsu.edu/gis/ogcwms.html

There, you'll find (not only) links to other servers, but links to accumulators and search engines of servers. Hopefully, you'll find what you need there.

Just came across this posting and I wanted to let you know that the NASA option IS functioning again in JMP. It went away briefly after the release of version 9. But we updated JMP in version 9.0.1 to use the new API allowed by the NASA server. So any version 9.0.1 or later will support the NASA server as a background map option.
