How do you make JMP remember what directory you are in?

If you double-click a JMP file in a particular directory to open it, when you go to save with another name (or save a journal, script, etc), it takes you back to some useless default directory like "My Documents". You then have to go clicking through the directory structure to save it where you want it.
If you start up JMP then navigate to a text file to import it, when you go to save as a JMP document, you have to re-navigate back to your working directory to save it.
It should just assume that you want to work out of whatever directory you last used to open a file.
This is such a simple thing, I can't understand why it hasn't been solved 3 versions ago.
Does anyone know how to fool JMP into respecting the directory in which you want to work?
