  • Continuous Vs Discrete Numeric Factor

    When looking for a maximal response for a factor at a certain range, for example; Total DNA 100ug to 400ug, what is a more accurate and efficient way (higher power less runs) to do so?Assign the factor as a continuous factor with 2nd power (X1*X1)Assign as discrete numeric at 3 levels (100, 250, 400)In the past I always ran option A but during design analysis, the power I get for X1*X1 is pretty l...

  • How to index into a table box of check boxes

    All,
          I have a m by n Table box of check boxes. I am wondering, how I can set some of them selected.        LB_b = Lineup Box(N Col(1)); nR = 10; nC = 10; SCB1 = String Col Box( "", {} ); For( i = 1, i <= nR, i++, SCB1 << Add Element( Char( i ) ) ); TB1 = Table Box( SCB1 ); For( i = 1, i <= nC, i++, Insert Into( TB1,...

  • How to re-size a report table in JSL?

    For example, I have made a report from a table as shown below:op1 = tbl1 << Get As Report; But the default display for the report table is too small (yes, I can use the scroll bars to move around). Is there any way in JSL so that I can re-size or maximize the display window for the report? I tried the followings, but none works :-(. <<Set Window Size

  • Default color palette for hierarchical clustering

    Somehow I have changed the default color palette for changing the colors of the clusters. How can I adjust the color palette used in hierarchical clustering? I am using this to teach a class and display geographical clustering using latitude and longitude for the San Francisco Crime dataset. For whatever palette got chosen there isn't enough of a difference in the colors between the clusters to ef...

  • Huge DF denominators for repeated measures ANOVAs with JMP 14

    I used to run repeated measures ANOVAs with JMP 13 with no proglems.  But now I got JMP 14 and ran an ANOVA with the same data and somehow got "4326" as a DF Den under "Test Denominator Synthesis".  This used to be "42" with JMP 13, and ovbiously the new F ratio got so much larger.  I do not think there is anything different I did (data, how to set up), other than I am now using JMP 14 instead of ...

  • How to change mosaic plot graph order?

    Hey Folks, I was just wondering how to change the order of the data displayed in the mosaic charts. In the picture below, say I would like to change the order of the data to be displayed as blue at the top, or orange goes to the bottom. Thanks in Advance, Thomas

  • Partition and Pruning

    I'm working with a dataset of about 27,000 rows and am trying to use 9 factors to predict a response using the partition function and a decision tree.  I'm using both k-means and validation.  When I tell JMP to Go, it will split 100-200 times, however the Split History shows me very little improvement after about 20 splits. For what I'm trying to do, I want to back up to the 20th split, but I don'...

  • I want to use LASSO and Group LASSO in JMP

    I'm involved in a project where we are applying lasso to build a logistic regression model from a "black box" set of predictors.  I need to get JMP Pro before trying out JMP's implementation.  I'm doing all the analysis in R at present.  Does JMP Pro also include group lasso?  I've found through using JMP Cluster Variables (CLUSVAR) that I can naturally group my predictors prior to group lasso.  F...

  • Mean separation letter from test slices

    Hello!

    How do I get the mean separation letter in for each level of a factor when interaction is significant? For example, if I have A*B interaction and I want to get the mean separation of B at each level of A, how do I get the LSD letters in JMP? I can do test slices and that will use the DF of the full analysis, but this does not shows which mean of B differs. If I do multiple comparison: How ca...
