Formula to toggle value (1 or 0) in new column based on change by row in existing column

I have a question on creating a formula to do something in JSL that I do very easily in Excel. If I were to have Column A and I want to generate Column B, I would put a zero in B1 then add the formula: =IF(A2<>A1,IF(B1=0,1,0),B1)into B2 then copy down the column. Is there a formula to do that in JMP? I have tried Lag() but it doesn't give me the results I'm looking for.

No line break between some of the points in a time series plot

I have a series of measurements where in order I have position A, B, C, then again A, B, C and so on.Of interest is whether there is any tendency for values to be biggest/smallest at either A or C position. Logit Regression Help

I am trying to run a Logit Regression and it has to include a column called "validation" which is just one of two words (half the data points are word type, the other half are another) so it comes up on JMP as nominal. What do I do? Thanks. The data is attached, choice is the dependent and all of ther other variables should be the predictors (including validation column).
