  • How can you add control runs to a split-plot design?

In pharmaceutical assays we often run controls on the plate which are used purely for the basis of quality control. The controls should not be part of the statistical model used to generate the DoE, and so previously I have tried to generate two DoEs (one for the main experiment, one for the controls) and merge them together. However, this is not trivial when you have a common split-plot setup, as...

  • Optimizing JMP Performance on an AMD Ryzen Laptop

Hello JMP Community,I wanted to share my positive experience and seek further insights into optimizing JMP software on my new setup, especially when handling large datasets and running complex analyses. I recently upgraded to a new laptop, and so far, I’ve been impressed by its performance. With its powerful processing cores, it has smoothly handled most tasks. However, I’ve noticed that when runn...

  • Statistical functions (Col Mean for example) possibly bugged on first row of data table when using << Set Each Value to replace values in column

While trying to get my solution working for Is there a faster way to loop? I came across an issue where first row of my data wasn't looking correct (in fact the issue was for whole first group). Names Default To Here(1); dt = New Table("Untitled 5", Add Rows(8), Compress File When Saved(1), New Column("Vals", Numeric, "Continuous", Format("Best", 12), Set Values([1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4])), Ne...

  • Alphabetical Ranking of Nominal Data

If I have a column of nominal data where the inputs can occur more than once, is there a way to have a column whereby the output is the alphabetical ranking of the input?  I can go the scripting route but I'd prefer a simple column formula.

  • Creating a script to select only certain values related to specific date range

I was given a file similar to thisI was asked to create a formula that pulls all the codes that happened between the start and stop dates.  I'm unsure how to set this up as a formula.  Is this something that could be created as a script to pull all the codes that occur between the start and stop dates?  I have never set up a script before and hoping someone can walk me through how to create one.Th...

  • Model reduction

Hello, According to the JMP learning model for DOE analysis, non-significant terms in the model can be removed, starting with the non-significant higher order interactions (= model reduction). However, is it really that simple? Are there other things to take into considerations before removing non-significant terms? Does removing a non-significant term necessarily meant that this factor has no/min...

  • Bug when using combination of set each value, tables with same column name(s) and col statistical functions within a loop

This has already been reported to JMP support and they have submitted it as a bug to development (00049239). Seems to happen at least with JMP16.2 and JMP17.0   Just as a heads up, there is fairly bad bug with JMP when using the mentioned combination (set each value, loop and col statistical functions). What happens is that JMP does use data from wrong table when adding data to different table. On...

  • Sample size for Reliability Life Test

I have used the interval explorer for parametric reliability life test planning for sample size calculation of accelerated life test. Please can someone confirm if the sample size returned is the total sample size or sample size per stress levels? Assuming I have 3 temperature levels, do I use 75 samples per temperature level or 25?

  • help to get R squared predicted

Hello!I installed a script from a community response regarding the calculation of R²pred, as shown in the image below (I'm using JMP 18 pro): (link da resposta do @erich_gundlach https://community.jmp.com/t5/JMP-Add-Ins/Predicted-R-square-calculator/ta-p/39927)  In PRESS, R²pred didn't appear. (Press is low because I haven't reduced the model yet, don't worry =))  I really need to show these R²pre...
