  • Moving average in Graph Builder vs Column Formula...weird

JMP 18...I noticed that the "local width" option for the moving average in Smoother in Graph Builder had even numbers, which seemed strange, as moving average windows are typically odd for symmetry. So I did a few widths with Smoother (local region = fixed, local weighting = rectangular, local width = 2, 3, or 4) then compared to a Column moving average formula (equal weighting) with different n b...

  • How do i plot error bars on log transformed graph?

The biological data that i have follows a log-normal distribution, so i have transformed the data to be displayed on a logY axis. However, i am struggling to display the corresponding error bars (2 sd) on the log graph. If plotted directly, the error bars will be asymmetrical and appear misleading.  How can the error bars be better displayed? Came across this tutorial and would this approach be ap...

  • Profiler for a function of a function

I fitted a B-spline model (cubic, 5 knots) to the data from 50 pH curves (pH vs Volume) using functional data explorer. I then created a least squares model to predict the functional principal components based on chemical composition. What I would really like to achieve is a profiler of predicted pH vs volume with sliders for chemical composition - predicting a pH curve for given composition. Beca...

  • How to center multiple histograms in Graph Builder?

Hi, I have a plotting question here:How to align multiple histograms in Graph Builder? I mean the medians (or Averages) of multiple histograms are superimposed?Or, should this be done in the source data table? Thank you! The example of 5 histograms is shown below:(JMP 18.1.0)

  • [JMP Live] Issue with Label Variables Checkbox Being Unchecked in PCA Chart Upload

When uploading a PCA chart created in JMP Pro to JMP Live, the "Label Variables" checkbox is unchecked in the posted version, as shown in the image. (It is also disabled, so it cannot be rechecked.)Could you please clarify the cause of this issue?I am having a great experience in Berlin and taking away many valuable insights.

  • Discovery summit book signings - official list of books?

Fellow JMP enthusiasts! During the 2024 Manchester Discovery Summit I was surprised to learn that the handing out and signing of books is a tradition. So, I am wondering whether there is a list of the books handed out & signed so far. If it exists, where to find it?I thoroughly enjoyed reading "Bitch" by Lucy Cooke, and I have a feeling "Hello World" by Hannah Frey will be a good read too.

  • Inquiry Regarding the Use of JMP and JMP Live (Suppress Eval?)

Hello, I am a user of JMP Live.
I am currently utilizing a simple function within JMP to leverage the Auto Refresh feature in JMP Live for dashboard purposes. However, while the function operates correctly on my PC, it does not work properly on JMP Live.Even though I have disabled "Suppress Eval" before executing Data Publish, when I later download the data, the column where the function should be ...

  • Question About F-Tests in GLMMs with Binomial Errors

    Hi,
I have a question regarding Generalized Linear Mixed Models (GLMMs) in JMP pro. Most statisticians consider it inappropriate to use F-tests or t-tests to evaluate predictor contributions in GLMs or GLMMs with binomial errors. This is because F- and t-tests are based on sums of squares, which assume normally distributed residual errors.
While using a logit link function helps linearize the relati...
