Hello, a medical statistic problem for me: - a discrete outcome variable - alive - 1/0- multiple groups, which I created by binning a continuos variable per percentiles (0-25,25-50,50-75,75-100)- for each group, I created a specific column (0-25, 25-50, 50-75, 75-100) which is again 1/0 my problem:I want to set all the patients in group 1 (0-25) as a baseline group and compare each individual (25-...

  • Sorting JMP data table and deleting rows in JMP Script

Hi:I'm a rookie with JMP. I want to sort and format a data table based on conditions on first two columns. The first column is a string of text ("LaserID" ) and the second column is time when data is taken ("time"). My goal is to to derive another table with exact same number of columns as the original table so that there is only one row of data of a particular "LaserID" (i.e. no repeat). The elim...

  • Chi square test of independence and categorical variable

I am quite new to statistics. I have designed an experiment where participants are supposed to tap to reproduce the tempo of some music samples. I have manipulated the music samples at tempo values at 60, 120 and 150 bpm, which is my x-variable and I have labelled it as categorical and nominal. In addition to the recorded tempo values (y-variable), I am looking at one more variable which I call th...

  • Peak of a probability distribution

HiI have a dataset which fits best to the Johnson Su distribution and I was wondering if there is a way to estimate the value of the peak of this distribution. It has just one peak, which is pretty different from the median or the mean. Calling this "mode" might be the best possible solution here but how do I estimate this point?

  • Graph a step change in trend (or multiple step changes)

Is there a way to graph a general trend that is a result of a step change (or multiple step changes)?   The general trend would be the overall line of fit.  The step changes would be lines of fit for various time periods.   Visual below.   Resaid is there a way to graph the step changes along with the general trend? This is dummy data.  There is an obvious step change in the average (or line of fi...

  • Filling partially missing data cells based on non-missing cells

Hello, I'm trying to figure out a way to fill in missing cells that should have values that are based on other cells. In my table, some of these cells are properly filled in, while others aren't. Here's a rough example Column 1Column 2Column 31aa'2bb'1aa'3cc'2  3  1  3cc'2   In this example, every row that has a '1' in the first column should have an A, and then an A' in the 2nd and 3rd column, re...

  • Capability Animation - How to see the LSL/USL Value?

I just discovered this nifty tool called the Capability Animation, where you can play around, dragging the spec limits and mean shifts, and it simulates your capability indices. But, I cannot see the actual LSL/USL values as I drag them! Does anyone know how to make this happen?
