  • MSA - getting repeatable

I am a new user off JMP. Something is fishy. I am getting a zero EV value on every MSA calculation. First I started with a destructive MSA, here I thought oh well maybe it has something to do that I cannot repeat the measurement on the same part. But here is a simple resistivity measuring MSA , crossed, so there for sure should be an EV value stated. What am I doing wrong, must be some simple sett...

  • Variance components analysis - manufacturing process

Hi all,I’m looking to understand the variability associated with a multi-step manufacturing process.  I think the way to do this is to plot the plot using the variability /attribute gauge chart, then use the variability components analysis.  But, I’m unsure of what variability model (crossed, nested, etc) to use.  With that said, let me give some more detail. Our raw material input (let’s call the...

  • Convert time from character to continous

I have a "Time" column in my dataset and am attempting to convert it to Continuous data type. I am using the "Set Format Pattern" in JMP 16 and everything looks OK except for the timestamps at midnight. This is because the midnight time (00:00:00) in the original dataset is missing. See the attached picture. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

  • How do I Sum all rows in a single column

I used JMP for many years, then did not for a few years and am back using JMP.  The data I am working with is such that I need to be able to sum both rows and columns.  Summing columns is easy for me using the formula function in column properties.  I have tried several of the suggestions about how to sum selected columns but I must be doing something wrong.  All the values I have entered in the r...

  • Graph builder syntax JMP15 vs 14

OK so I have this snippet of code that behaves very differently in JMP14 vs JMP15.  The JMP 14 picture is the one I want it to look like.  Why is it different in JMP15??JMP 15 output - bad - axes are flipped, data is missing, etc.JMP 15 - no good!!JMP14 output - this is what I expect.JMP 14 - yes, pleaseChart( Y( :calc_st_dr, :calc_st_dr Prediction Formula ), Horizontal( 1 ), Category Axis << {...

  • Unable to find sas documentation on JMP Virtual Lab

Hi Guys,    this might sound silly, but I'm not able to find the SAS documentation on the JMP Virtual Lab. Does anyone know where I can find it? I have attached an image for reference.   Thanks in advance,

  • Change Format of "Means and stdevs" on Histogram Plot

Hey guys,So I routinely display histograms on JMP and an option I love is "display means and stdevs" but sometimes the displayed format isnt the desired format. And I am not sure how to edit this format to display the numbers better. I want to show the Mean as 40e-15 not 4e-14. And STD as well in e-15 and add an extra significant digit. How can I edit these? Is it possible to chose a format.

  • Return number from specified row of calculation column in either a text edit box or number edit box in an add in

Hello,  I'm attempting to build an application in application builder. I have two modules currently. The first module is a series of number edit boxes and lists that allow the user to input values and make selections. After pushing a button, the inputs and/or list selections update table variables in a data table that subsequently updates column equations. The data table opens in the background so ...

  • Comparing observed/predicted from different models. (Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD) or Mean Absolute Error (MAE))?

I'm using the neural platform to calculate a model that makes predictions from some observed data and want to compare the performance of that model to other models (not from JMP). To compare the different models, I want to compare the observed data and the predictions from the different models. The R2 is not a good measure because it checks for any linear relationship between the observed and predi...

  • Problem specifying model for a partly nested ANOVA design

My study design is mixed-model with one fixed between-plot fixed factor (A), a random plot factor (B), nested in A (B[A]), and two crossed within-plot fixed factors (C and D).  I'm able to enter a full factorial model that includes the 3 fixed factors and all their interactions, using either the Least Squares or Mixed-Model Personality.  I'm also able to add the random factor (B[A]), but things go...
