  • How to find AQL and LQ levels from Product Risk Assesment Probabilities?

    Hello everyone.

I am currently going to conduct a validation and I am a bit lost because normally I am just given a LQ level which I then should work from. But now I need to derive the AQL/LQ level from the Product Risk Assesment due to it is not a standard currently for the company I am a consultant for.

The situation is that I have a team of vision specialist but they do not know when they have ac...

  • Is Missing( " " ) returns True?

I would like to differentiate a space cell and an empty cell.  The Is Missing() function interprets both as missing.  Is there a better way? I am using JMP 16.2.0. New Table( "Example", Add Rows( 1 ), New Column( "Empty", Character, "Nominal", Set Values( {""} ) ), New Column( "Empty Missing?", Numeric, "Continuous", Format( "Best", 12 ), Formula( Is Missing( :Empty ) ) ), New Column(...

  • Gauge R&R interpretation when accounting for Crossed effects

The MSA used to calculate GaugeR&R recommends selecting Crossed as the Model type. This is a slightly different method compared to evaluating just the Main effects of Appraiser and Part which many spreadsheets and tools use to calculate Gauge. I understand the concept of crossed effects, but I'm having a difficult time understanding how the crossed variance calculation is made (i.e. if I want to h...

  • Back Transform of SHASH Transformed Value

Hello, I am trying to calculate normal tolerance intervals for a population of data which follows a non-normal distribution. After using SHASH transformation to transform the data to normal, can tolerance intervals be calculated and back-transformed to the native distribution? If so, is there a readily available formula or script by which to execute this back transformation? If this is not possibl...

  • plot something like R chart but showing positive and negative value instead of range.

i have a table with 200 parameters/columns and 300 parts/row. Each part has reading taken twice, namely T0 and T48. i would like to plot something like reading@T48 - reading@T0 for all 200 parameters in y- axis, x-axis is the part 1 to part 300. i am thinking to use R chart since it does the range = absolute( reading@T48 - reading@T0 ). Is this something ready available in JMP or should i do a mat...

  • Optimizing Desirability With Uncontrolled Factor

I am looking for advice on how to automate maximizing the desirability of a process profile when I am locking one of the factors and having the others optimize around it. My process has an uncontrolled factor, so I need to adapt to what it's doing per unit I measure. My desired response can generally be achieved by adjusting the controlled factors, but the desirability situation is unique per valu...
